Introduction The Quality of Pitch (QOP) statistic uses PITCHf/x data to extract the trajectory, location, and speed from a single pitch and is mapped onto a -10 to 10 scale. A value of 5 or higher represents a quality MLB pitch. In March 2015 we presented an LA Dodgers case study at the SABR Analytics conference using QOP that included the following results1: 1. Clayton Kershaw’s no hitter on June 18, 2014 vs. Colorado had an objectively better pitching performance than Josh Beckett’s no hitter on May 25th vs. Philadelphia. 2. Josh Beckett’s 2014 injury followed a statistically significant decline in his QOP that was not accompanied by a significant decline in MPH. These, and the others made in the presentation, are big claims.

GENERAL STATEMENT On behalf of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, Houston Astros affiliate of the Carolina League, the practices identified below represent practical best efforts to proactively invest and keep our com- munity safe when attending functions, events, and games at Segra Stadium. The outlined steps and initiatives are intended to preserve the safety of staff, players, fans, and guests. The Woodpeckers will continue to follow the guidance of national, state, and local agencies, as well as the directives of its member leagues, to develop these policies and determine the appropriate time for hosting events at the ballpark. 2. CLEAR BAG POLICY Due to the heightened health concerns, the Woodpeckers encourage fans to leave all bags at home, but the following items will be allowed into Segra Stadium: A. Bags that are clear, plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”. B. No buckles, grommets/hardware or decor can be concealing any part of the bag. C. One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (ziplock bag or similar). D. Logo(s) are allowed on ONLY one side of the bag. E. Small clutch bags, which cannot exceed 4.5” x 6.5” in size, with or without a handle or strap, can be taken into the stadium inside a clear plastic bag. 3. CASHLESS PAYMENTS The Woodpeckers are operating as a cashless facility, including in the areas of food/beverage, tick- eting, and merchandise. This will limit direct contact between employees and guests. 4. SEGRA STADIUM ENTRY A. All patrons may be subject to health screenings prior to entry.
