Big Band Film Noir is an evening of classic jazz from some of Hollywood’s greatest Film Noir classics. We have mysteries, detectives and damsels in distress, all set to some of the most seductive and exciting music ever written for big band. Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Orson Wells, Jack Nicholson, Harrison Ford and more! They’re all here! From A Streetcar Named Desire, Sweet Smell Of Success and On The Waterfront, to Chinatown and Blade Runner ... this show is an absolute, high-energy blast! Television classics Peter Gunn and Johnny Staccato both show up and so does the anime masterpiece Cowboy Bebop! And of course we also include the classic song Laura. This is a 2-1/2-hour concert program that features some of the best big band musicians in the world. Big Band Film Noir also features internationally acclaimed flute soloist Sara Andon. The concert is produced and hosted by Robert Townson, the most prolific film music producer in the world. Visual accompaniment includes film clips and stills from Hollywood’s most stylish dark side.
