Studying A-Levels is a great way to prepare for university study. Choose from one of the widest choices of AS and A Levels in the region. We work with schools in the region on shared timetabling – which means you can also choose to stay at school and come to CAVC for an A Level subject not offered at your school. All students also study the Welsh Baccalaureate as part of the AS/A Level programme, giving you a broader experience and range of opportunities to develop. Our Preparation for Work, Life and Learning courses support you to develop your skills for life, including how to access the community, how to live independently, how to communicate effectively or help you develop the skills to go on to further study. There are three entry routes, which all have different routes of progression for your next step. Towards Independence: These programmes aim to develop learners’ independent living skills for life, community participation and offers an introduction to work skills. You then have an opportunity to progress on to a work or life skills specific course. Above all we aim to meet your individual needs and work with you to improve your life chances. Towards Learning: These programmes include Vocational Access and Skills for Progression in College and support you to develop your skills for further progression in college. You will try out a wide range of vocational career pathways in college including Catering, Construction Trades, IT, Creative Arts, Health and Social Care, Public Services, Business and Sport. This helps you to make an informed choice about your future. Through the course you will also develop your literacy, application of number and IT skills. Towards Work: Our Work and Life Skills course develop your personal and employability skills for the future jobs market. These programmes offer work experience elements where you’ll get a chance to put what you have learned into practice and build on your CV. I am currently doing IT Level 1 and I previously did a Vocational Access course at the College. ESOL and ESOL+ Courses to improve your English and train for a career

CAVC has an excellent reputation for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). We are the biggest provider in Wales. We help you to improve speaking, listening, reading and writing in English. This can help you in life and work in the future. Our ESOL courses are delivered at our One Canal Parade building, part of our City Centre Campus. While most ESOL learners study part-time, you can come to college to study ESOL full-time. This helps you to improve your English each week and to gain ESOL qualifications during the year. On an ESOL+ course you can train for the career you want and improve your English through the course. Study ESOL at the right level for you – between Entry 3 and Level 2 – and also gain skills, experience and a qualification in your chosen career area.

I chose to come to this College ESOL+ IT L2 City as there is so much you can do here, my favourite part is the skills centre. In the Sucess Centre there is always ESOL+ Barbering L1 City someone to help you if you are struggling with work, and so ESOL+ AAT L1 L2 City many books available. After finishing my ESOL course I am looking forward to carrying on my education. I have chosen to specialise in Health and Social Care, as I would like to give back to the community by helping people.
