Description of the program and what students can expect to learn: Welding & Fabrication is a program that teaches such a specific skill set that the demand for workers in this industry remains high year after year. With potential career pathways as a welder, welding technician, fabrication or welding supply representative, students have ample opportunities to advance directly into the workforce with the experience necessary to perform the duties this industry requires. Students will learn in a hands-on environment and explore arc welding, blueprint reading, metal inert gas welding and plasma , oxy-acetylene cutting, and tungsten inert gas welding.

Uniform details: Apollo students wear uniforms as part of the professionalism component of their career technical program. Wearing a uniform is meant to simulate real world work experiences as well as serve as a safety precaution. Uniforms are ordered from Cappies Sportswear through the Apollo website. All students who were accepted prior to the first day of school are expected to be in uniform by September 14th. Students accepted within the first two weeks of school must be in uniform by October 1st. Students who are not in uniform by these deadlines may be sent home or have daily grade reductions for professionalism.

Additional Information: Typical School Day Schedule: School day 8:am – 2:20 pm (busses leave at 2:20, drivers at 2:25) First year program students have lab 1–4 and academics 6-8 (assigned lunch time) Second year program students have academics periods 1-4 and lab 6-8 (assigned lunch time)

School-to-Work Opportunities Senior students who meet criteria may qualify for workplace learning opportunities. Apollo offers students two different opportunities for on the job training prior to graduation; Senior Apprenticeship and Advanced Placement.
