2015 CLEVELAND CAVALIERS PLAYOFF NOTES

PLAYOFF TIME: The Cavaliers are in the postseason for the 19th time in team history. Cleveland is 74-79 all-time in the postseason, including 49-28 at home. Since 2006, the Cavs are 28-10 during the playoffs at Quicken Loans Arena.

DEFENSIVE TENACITY: The Cavaliers displayed a strong defensive performance in the First Round against Boston, holding the Celtics under 96 points in three of the four contests. Check out the Cavs overall defensive numbers so far in this year’s postseason:  The Cavs lead all postseason teams in blocks per game at 7.4.  The Cavaliers are also allowing the 2nd-lowest opponent three-point field goal percentage in the NBA Playoffs at .308.  Cleveland ranks 5th in the league in overall opponent field goal percentage at .436 and held Boston to under .440 shooting in three of the four matchups.  The Wine and Gold are giving up 95.6 points, which is the 3rd-lowest in the playoffs.

DOING THE DIRTY WORK: In the Game 2 win over Boston in the First Round, Tristan Thompson became the first Cavs player to pull down at least 11 rebounds and not attempt a field goal in a single playoff game since Ben Wallace on April 27, 2008 versus Washington (12 rebounds/0 FGA). NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE - CANTON CHARGE

CHARGE SEASON ENDS IN EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS: The Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, fell to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, 103-85, in front of 2,794 on April 19 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. Despite losing the series, the Charge enjoyed a banner franchise year in 2014-15. Along with their successes on the court in tallying the most wins in franchise history (31-19), Canton was guided to their fourth-straight playoff appearance by their top scoring defense in the NBA Development League, with first-year Head Coach Jordi Fernandez’s team holding opponents to 95.2 points per game.

The Charge also saw prominent growth off the court as a business, spending a franchise-record 847 hours in the community this year and working with organizations with strong ties throughout the Northeast Ohio community such as the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, Canton City Schools, United Way of Stark County, the LeBron James Family Foundation, Aultman Hospitals, and Akron Children’s Hospital. A new franchise-record 72,345 came out to the Memorial Civic Center to support the Charge this season, including a single-game best 4,119 on Fan Appreciation Night (4/3) and 4,032 to see the Charge win on Cavs Night (1/31), both exceeding a sellout (3,942). Overall ticket revenue was up over 40% this season, with significant increases in single game ticket revenue and our group programs from last year. Corporate Partnerships increased significantly with the addition of 17 new partners, including presenting sponsor SecureData 365. These new relationships combined with founding partners in Aultman Hospitals and Adultcare along with other returning and new partners, buoyed corporate sponsorships by more than 50%. ROCKIN’ THE Q: The Cavaliers sold out each of their 41 home games in 2014-15 at Quicken Loans Arena, including the first game of this year’s playoffs. The Cavs opened the 2014-15 season at The Q on Oct. 30 against the , which was their 10th straight home opener sellout, as well as the 300th regular season sellout at The Q. To date, including regular season (340) and playoffs (37), there have been 377 sellouts at The Q.

LEBRON JAMES REIGNS AS KING OF NBA’S MOST POPULAR JERSEYS LIST: The Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James once again leads the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) list of most popular jerseys. This marks the sixth consecutive time James has claimed the No. 1 position on the list and his third such honor as a member of the Cavaliers. The rankings are based on overall retail sales on NBAStore.com since the beginning of the 2014-15 season. Rounding out the top six is the Warriors’ (No. 2), the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant (No. 3), the Thunder’s (No. 4), the Bulls’ Derrick Rose (No. 5) and James’ teammate Kyrie Irving (No. 6). TH 10 ANNUAL AUSTIN CARR GOOD GUY AWARD: Cavaliers forward LeBron James was the recipient of the 10th annual Austin Carr Good Guy Award, presented by the local chapter of the Pro Basketball Writers Association (PBWA). The award, named after Cavaliers legend Austin Carr, is designed to recognize a Cavaliers player who is cooperative and understanding of the media. Carr, who played nine seasons with the Cavaliers, was the No. 1 pick of the 1971 NBA Draft by Cleveland and was selected by 32 members of the media in Northeast Ohio to the Cavaliers All-Time Starting Five during the Cavaliers 30th anniversary season in 1999-2000. He is now the television analyst for FOX Sports Ohio and the team's Director of Community and Business Development. The award, which is presented annually, was voted upon by the local writers in Cleveland's chapter of the Pro Basketball Writers Association.
