Tween App Totally Amp'd Available for Free in Canada until May 10th

Based on the tween digital comedy series Totally Amp'd (10 x six minutes), about a group of teens who compete to become the next big pop group, the companion App for iOS platforms features interactive Music, Movie and Design Studios, and is available for free download until May 10th in Canada via iTunes. Toronto, Canada - Smokebomb Entertainment, the digital division of leading producer and distributor Shaftesbury, is offering the Totally Amp'd App for free to consumers in Canada, effective immediately. Based on the tween digital comedy series Totally Amp'd (10 x six minutes), about a group of teens who compete to become the next big pop group, the companion App for iOS platforms features interactive Music, Movie and Design Studios, and is available for free download until May 10th in Canada via iTunes. The App is also available to U.S. and international consumers for $1.99 via iTunes. Totally Amp'd the series is available to Canadians on YTV.

Awarded Best in Mobile Application at the 2012 Digi Awards, Totally Amp'd tells the story of a group of musically talented teens who are brought together to become the next big pop group. When an important music label announces a contest for an up-and-coming band to open for pop star Charlie Fever, the label's savvy receptionist-turned-manager, Zoe (Ashley Leggat), taps five teens to form a band in order to bring home the prize, including Cristine Prosperi (: The Next Generation) and Demetrius Joyette (Wingin' It).

The Totally Amp'd App is designed to give fans the opportunity to become a part of the series' story world by creating customized content with the Music, Movie and Design Studios. Viewers can remix original songs and add their own vocal tracks using the Karaoke feature; direct their own music videos using footage and songs from the series; design album covers and band outfits, and more. Totally Amp'd reimagines the way kids relate to media and presents them with the chance to personalize and share their experiences in new ways.

The Totally Amp'd Facebook contest "Sing 2 the Tune" offers Canadian fans their own shot at stardom. By submitting a video or audio file of them performing a Totally Amp'd song, fans are automatically entered for a chance to win a brand-new iPod touch along with an exclusive t-shirt signed by the cast of the show, and much more. The contest closes on May 10th at 12:00 pm ET.

Totally Amp'd is produced by Jay Bennett, Daniel Dales and Jarrett Sherman. The series is directed by Benjamin Weinstein (Life with Derek, Baxter) and written by Karen McClellan (Being Erica). All original music performed by the cast was written and composed by award-winning composer Jared Gutstadt, CEO and co-founder of Jingle Punks (The Voice).
