ORDER APPOINTING JURY TASK FORCE

. To study the jury system in Texas and make recommendations both to the Supreme Court and the Legislature on needed reforms, the Court hereby appoints its Jury Task Force.

The task force chair will be Dean W. Frank Newton, of Texas Tech Law School; the reporter for the task force will be Jack Ratliff, Ben Gardner Sewell Professor in Civil Trial Advocacy at the University of Texas Law School. Assisting Professor Ratliff will be co-reporter Professor Susan Fortney of Texas Tech Law School. The task force liaison from the Texas Supreme Court is Justice John Cornyn. Judge Sharon Keller will be the liaison from the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Jerry Benedict, Administrative Director of the Office of Court Administration will serve in an ex officio capacity, as will Jim Hutcheson, General Counsel of the Office of Court Administration.
