James A. Jutry, a Shareholder in DeConcini McDonald Yetwin & Lacy, P.C., practices in the areas of local, state and federal taxation, business planning, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, securities regulation and charitable organizations. He has been certified by the State Bar of as a tax specialist. Mr. Jutry has assisted clients in benefit and compensation planning including designing and implementing "cafeteria" or flexible benefit plans under Internal Revenue Code §125. He has advised organizations on obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status under Internal Revenue Code § 501(c). This work has involved such issues as improper inurnment, permitted lobbying expenditures, prohibited political activity and acquisition and disposition of charitable donations. In addition to litigating tax matters, he also represents taxpayers in disputes with the audit and collection divisions of the Internal Revenue Service and in sales and use tax controversies with the Arizona Department of Revenue and local taxing authorities. Mr. Jutry received undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the of Arizona. Prior to attending law school, he was on the staff of the Arizona Auditor General. He graduated with distinction from the of Law in 1980 and thereafter attended the University of Florida where he earned a Master of Laws in Taxation in 1981. After nearly three decades working with and directing non-profit organizations, Anne Maley has created her own consulting firm, Anne Maley Consulting of Tucson, Arizona. Over the course of her career managing and directing non-profit groups, Anne has earned a reputation as a leader in organizational development, collaborations and mergers, as well as fund development. She has a unique understanding of the group dynamic and the experience and insight necessary to enable organizations to define their mission and enhance their fund-raising ability. Anne served as Executive Director of the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF) in Tucson, AZ for ten years, an organization comprising three former AIDS agencies. For five years prior, Anne was the Executive Director of the Shanti Foundation, one of the three groups she helped to forge into SAAF. Before moving to Arizona in 1992, Anne held such leadership positions as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Shelter Provides Association, Boston, MA; and the Executive Director for Help for Abused Women and Their Children, Salem, MA. Anne has spoken at conferences nationwide on mergers, provided coaching and leadership consulting services, and has worked on several capital campaigns. Her community positions have included Treasurer of AZ AIDS Policy Alliance, President of the Behavioral Health Coalition, and Board member of the Community Partnership of Southern Arizona. Judith Brown received her BA in Music and her MA in Art History from Boston University. She is currently the Director of Development and Community Affairs for the UA College of Nursing. She is also a trustee of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. Judith hosted a half hour public affairs program entitled Topic of Tucson for many years on KUAT radio and on KGUN-TV.

Kristin Almquist

Ms. Almquist has just completed two years as the Director of the Southern Arizona Office for Governor Napolitano performing community outreach, legislative advocacy and constituent services. Ms. Almquist is experienced with determining local community strengths & needs and has a well rounded background in facilitating information and strategic planning. Her past experiences include: working in non-profit organizations as well as in the for-profit business sector. Prior to joining the Napolitano team, she worked for Habitat for Humanity as the Community Development Director. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of the Pacific, which has been the basis for 24 years of creating successful and effective programs and strategies within the hospitality, tourism, retail, real estate and international business development industries. Passionate for community development, her volunteer projects have been an important part of her activities. She most recently served as a member of the KUAT Public Advisory Board (Tucson) and the Council on Aging Foundation/PCOA. She has enjoyed being active as a volunteer with many local organizations including the Habitat for Humanity, the YWCA, the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona, OMA, the Educational Enrichment Foundation, and the Arizona Theatre Company. Ms. Almquist is single and enjoys golf, fishing, the theatre, music and lives in downtown Tucson.

5 Edith Auslander

Edith Sayre Auslander is the consultant to Arizona Assurance at The University of Arizona Foundation. Her previous position for five years was as Vice President and Senior Associate to the President of the UA. Auslander is a native Tucsonan who earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Arizona. She had a long career in newspaper work as a reporter, copy editor and section editor for The Arizona Daily Star. She also has been an assistant professor of journalism at The University of Arizona and served as vice president of human resources for Tucson Newspapers for more than 15 years. She left the UA faculty in 1984 when she was appointed by Gov. Bruce Babbitt to the Arizona Board Regents for an eight-year term. She was elected president of the Board of Regents for the 1989-90 academic year. During her term as president, she initiated the system-wide study on the status of women. Auslander is one of 15 founders of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She has been listed three times in the Hispanic Business magazine as one of 100 influential U.S. Hispanics and in Replica magazine as one 25 Hispanic Women of the Year. She has been active in several national organizations, including the Editing Program for Minority Journalists and the Multicultural Management Program. She was elected to the board and served as president of the national Media Human Resources Association. She is a past president of the UA Hispanic Alumni Club and of the Hispanic Professional Action Committee. She was named Tucson’s Woman of the Year in 1986, and received an honorary doctorate of laws from the University of Arizona in 1997. She was honored six times nationally for her human resources work, and she earned the certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources. She has been named to the halls of fame of the UA Student Media Foundation and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She has received the Women on the Move and the Iris Dewhirst awards from the Tucson YWCA.

6 Betsy Bolding

Tucson's Woman of the Year in 2003, Betsy has an impressive record of community involvement, both professionally and as a volunteer. In her current position as director of consumer affairs at Tucson Electric Power, Betsy manages the company's K-8 in-school education programs and provides community outreach for TEP's special programs to benefit low-income customers and for its solar and renewable energy programs. A high school Journalism and English teacher for 15 years, Betsy turned to politics in 1978, successfully co- chairing Gov. Bruce Babbitt's campaign in southern Arizona. She managed his branch office and handled issues pertinent to the Tucson region, serving as his special assistant during his eight years in office. With her background in consumer affairs and politics, Betsy is deeply in touch with the Tucson community. More than that--she is a whirlwind of activity and involvement in the arts, education and community service. She is a past president and director of the Community Food Bank, and her involvement with the Arizona Community Action Association, a state-wide group, keeps her in contact with agencies that provide services to low-income families. She is also currently a director of Childs Play, a Tempe- based professional children's theater group, and a past chairman of the Arizona Theater Company and a member of its Honorary Board. She was founding president of the Tucson Cinema Foundation which owns and operates the Loft Cinema. Betsy, who is a trustee of , has stayed involved with her alma mater as well. She is a founding member of the UA Women's Studies Advisory Council and serves on the advisory board for the UA Women’s Plaza of Honor and the KUAT Communications Group.

7 Ronald C. Bornstein

Ronald C. Bornstein served in leadership positions in public broadcasting and higher education for over 40 years. He relocated his management consulting and executive recruitment practice to Tucson after retiring from the University of Wisconsin System, where he worked for 37 years in various capacities as Director of the Telecommunications Division and General Manager of WHA Radio and Television, Vice President for University Relations, and as the University's Senior Vice President for Administration, Executive Vice President and Chief Operation Officer. He was also a Professor of Communication Arts of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where his specialty was media policy and programming. On leaves of absence from the University, he twice served in Washington, D.C. as Vice President for Telecommunications for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and as Acting President of National Public Radio. He was a long-time member of the State of Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, chaired its Wisconsin Public Broadcasting Foundation, and served on the boards of PBS, NPR and the Association of Public Television Stations. He is a recipient of numerous awards, including a National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences “Emmy” Award and the Edward R. Murrow Award, and was inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Pacific Mountain Network, an educational foundation that provides support to its 31 member stations in the Rocky Mountain and Pacific States.

Sharon Bronson, was first elected to office in November 1996. She represents District 3, a sprawling district of 7,403 square miles that includes all of western Pima County, AZ. and shares more than 130 miles of international border with Mexico. Since her election to the Board, Bronson has led the charge for balanced smart growth strategies and was instrumental in the development and implementation of Pima County’s Award winning Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan. She has served as President of the County Supervisor’s Association of Arizona, President of the U.S./Mexico Border County Coalition. She has also chaired the Pima Association of Government’s Executive Committee and the local public broadcasting affiliate KUAT Communications Group’s Public Advisory Board. She is currently the Co-chair of Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, Inc. (TREO). Martin Camacho is a Tucson native and UA graduate. He worked for three local television stations (KOLD, KGUN and KUAT) between 1987 and 2004 and has been in his current position with the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson since November 2004. Martin is an active member of the Father’s Day Council of Tucson, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Southern Arizona Chapter, and the Concerned Media Professionals. Martin also supports Mariachi Los Changuitos Feos de Tucson; a youth mariachi group whose multiple purposes are to provide creative and wholesome activity for its members; to develop members' artistic talent and social maturity; to instill in members self esteem and pride in music, language and culture; to develop a sense of community; and to provide college scholarship support to graduating members. Karen Christensen is an arts consultant in Tucson. She served as the General Counsel and Deputy Chairman for Grants at the National Endowment for the Arts from 1993-2001. Prior to that she was Assistant General Counsel at National Public Radio. Her legal career includes work at the US Department of Justice and Legislative Office of the American Civil Liberties Union. Stephen Golden is a trial lawyer in private practice in Tucson, Arizona. He attended law school at the University of Arizona in Tucson following a career of more than 30 years in newspapers and media most of which was at The New York Times Company. When he left The Times Company in 1999 Mr. Golden was a vice-president of The Times Company, president of a business unit, and was a member of the Company’s senior management team. During his diverse career at The Times was a member of the Board of Directors of The Boston Globe, a unit of The New York Times Company, where he served for 4 additional years after he left The Times Company to attend law school. He began his career as a newspaper reporter in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee before starting at The New York Times as a reporter. In addition to his career at The New York Times Company, he has been a writer and producer for television and radio documentaries and was a media and advertising consultant. Mr. Golden divides his time between his law practice and philanthropy. He is a member of the board of the Law College Association, his law school’s fund-raising and alumni board; a board member and former chair of UApresents, the local arts presenting organization in Tucson; of Arizona Public Media, Tucson’s NPR and PBS outlets; and the U of A School of Dance. John Geiger holds a B.A, Ph.D. and was a N.D.E.A. Graduate Fellow from Marquette University. He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Marquette’s School of Education. John has been a teacher and principal, including work at the Milwaukee Psychiatric Hospital. He spent thirty- two years as faculty at the University of Dayton, during which time he was voted Professor of the Year and received the Lackner Award for Service. Geiger has delivered presentations to many professional groups including: EDUCAUSE, the American Association of of Teacher Education and the Presidents Institute on Enrollment Management. In addition, he has been published and been co-editor in multiple journals. His work has also been included in books such as CORE Teaches the Heart , Readings in Value Development and From Segregation to Integration . With colleagues, he has received multiple grants and contracts from the Lily Endowment, the Carnegie Foundation, Ohio University and more. Since retiring from the University of Dayton and moving to the Tucson area, Geiger has taught at The University of Arizona; served on the Executive Board of the Green Valley Community Coordinating Council; served on the Accreditation Council for Optometric Education; co-authored a book on higher education; and has written a column for the “Green Valley News and Sun” on volunteering. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Pima County Council on Aging and serves as the chair of the Advisory Board for the Green Valley/Sahuarita Volunteer Clearinghouse.

Chris Helms

Christopher Helms has been Executive Director of the Morris K. Udall Foundation, the only Federal agency based entirely in Arizona, since its inception thirteen years ago. Judy Lynn

Judy Lynn is a math teacher specializing in private, individualized instruction for students who are being home schooled. After tutoring in her spare time for 10 years, she decided to make her passion her profession and started teaching full time in 2007. Prior to starting her own small business, Judy worked as a cost estimator for Raytheon Missile Systems, a technical writer for a small computer software company, and, most recently, the volunteer coordinator for Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network. Jim has been a Tucson resident since 1946; attended University of Arizona and was employed for 13 years with the prior Mountain Bell Telephone Co. Simon Rosenblatt was born in Brooklyn, New York, and he grew up in Florida (after a short stay in Havana, Cuba). He graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie-Mellon University) in Pittsburgh with a degree in electrical engineering. He served on active duty in the U.S. Army for six years, including a tour in Vietnam. Simon remained in the Army reserve for an additional sixteen years and is now retired from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel. He worked for the Army (first on active duty and later as a civilian employee) as an engineer for thirty years at Fort Huachuca until his retirement in 2003. Retirement allowed him to make the move from Sierra Vista to Tucson. Simon was a founding member of Temple Kol Hamidbar in Sierra Vista, where he served as the board secretary and lay leader for more than fifteen years. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Union for Reform Judaism, the parent organization of Reform congregations in North America. Simon is also on the board of Temple Emanu-El here in Tucson, where he serves as the secretary. He is a member of the Tucson Jewish Community Relations Council, serving as a member of the LGBT inclusion steering committee and as co-chair of the Israel Advocacy Task Force. Simon has been on the Public Advisory Board (now Community Advisory Board) of KUAT since 1986, and he is now an emeritus member of the board. Simon is married to Louise Greenfield, who is a librarian at the University of Arizona. Simon’s other interests include aviation – he is a licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor – and amateur radio.

Larry Schnebly, who retired from KGUN-TV in Tucson in April, 1994, has been in the broadcast industry, since 1948. His career roots go back to KGPH and KWRZ radio in Flagstaff, where he worked as a record-packer, copywriter, newscaster, D.J., classic hour host, man-on-the-street interviewer, Sunday morning funnies reader, sportscaster, poetry show and staff announcer. In 1953, Larry was the D.J. ‘Johnny Dark’ for KPHO radio. He was also the staff announcer for KVOA Radio & TV from 1953-1956. He was Program Director and on-air host of Loew’s ‘Coffee Break’ for KVOA-TV. In 1958, Schnebly became the Assistant Director of Alumni Relation s and Director of Housing for Northern Arizona University for two years. He returned to KGUN in July, 1960 where he remained until his retirements. Larry has received awards from the Rotary Club and the Tucson Ad Club, and has been a Tucson Father-of-the-Year Honoree and was a Arizona Broadcaster Hall of Fame inductee in 1999.

She served The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from February 2001 until late June 2007 as its research compliance officer. In this role she designed the university’s institutional compliance program, including within its span of responsibilities multiple components such as the human research subjects protection program, humane animal care and use program, conflict of interest management, HIPAA compliance, scientific integrity management, several research safety and security programs and an export control compliance program. While at UNC, she also led a successful effort to reshape the State of North Carolina’s position on Institutional Review Board waivers of informed consent in healthcare research. Prior to her time in North Carolina, she spent ten years in business contracting for the University of California at Davis, advising faculty, students and staff on specialized business structures and relationships, and negotiating business contracts and educational affiliations for the campus and the university’s health care system. Jack Gibson’s career in public broadcasting spans more than a quarter of a century. His association with a number of successful production projects has earned him seven Emmy Awards. Gibson began his television career in 1979 at WUFT Channel 5 at the University of Florida in Gainesville, and held a variety of positions in production, engineering, operations and programming. In 1985, he joined the staff of WLIW Channel 21 in Long Island, New York, as director of programming, where he was responsible for program management, program production, instructional television, engineering, branding, advertising and promotion. In April 1991, Gibson joined the staff of WPBT Channel 2 in Miami as director of programming. He was promoted to vice president of programming in September 1995 and then, to senior vice president, programming and production, in January 1999, where he was responsible for all phases of program development, production, program acquisition, research and scheduling, creative services, program operations, and advertising and promotion. While in Florida, Gibson served on a variety of community and professional-organization boards, including four terms as governor for the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Suncoast Chapter. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcasting from the University of Florida and is a graduate of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting’s Executive Management Institute.
