Logic or Bobby Hall Today we have an interview with Yordi Janssen student at Sint Lucas Eindhoven. He is here to tell us about his first weekly assignment that he made of the theme: Interview. Yordi read an interview about one of his favorite artists: Logic. The interview was about Logic who is releasing a new novel and also a new album. Let us hear Yordi about the interview. Yordi what did sparkle your interest? ‘’Well Logic is at the moment one of my favorite artists that I listen to. He inspires me to work hard and also accept other people but also relax a little.’’ That’s very nice to hear and Yordi what have you learned about the interview? ‘’So I learned Logic or Bobby Hall, his real name, a bit better. I didn’t know that he had a depression because he worked too hard on both his album and novel. So I think it’s nice that all of his fans know that he is still around and cares about everyone who cares about him.’’You listen to him very often so has your opinion changed after reading this interview? ‘’No not really. Actually, I still think he is one of the best rappers to this day.’’ But how does this connect to other interests you might have, personal or professional? ‘’When I play a game, walk with the dog or go out to the gym, I always put on some music and nine out of the ten songs I play are from Logic.’’ And for the last question I’m gonna ask you, Yordi is there any comparisons to be made between the four weekly assignments? ‘’I think if there is a theme that I can link to Logic, I would definitely use him as my subject.’’ Okay then thank you for coming to Yordi and for responding to all of our questions that we had about your weekly assignments. Read in our next interview with Yordi about his second weekly assignment. 2. Confessions of a Dangerous Mind Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is the fifth studio album by American rapper Logic. The album was announced on March 19, 2019, with a video for the album’s title track.] It was released on May 10, 2019, by Def Jam Recordings and Visionary Music Group Con- fessions of a Dangerous Mind is Logic’s second release in less than two months, following Supermarket in March, which served as a soundtrack for the novel of the same name. The album features guest appearances from rappers Eminem, Gucci Mane, G-Eazy, Will Smith, Wiz Khalifa, and DMV native YBN Cordae, along with vocals from Logic’s father Smokey Hall, who is credited as “My Dad”. Meanwhile, production was handled by Logic’s frequent producer 6ix, who serves as an executive producer, while additional production came from Cubeatz, DJ Khalil, Frank Dukes, Haze, and Illmind, among others. Despite sales being lower than those of his other projects, the album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, making it Logic’s third album to reach the top of the chart. The album’s first single, “Keanu Reeves”, was released on January 18, 2019. The music video for the album’s second single, “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind”, was released on March 19, 2019, with the song being released three days later on March 22.[ The album’s third single, “Homicide”, was released on May 3, and featured a guest verse from Eminem.The album’s release date and artwork were revealed on May 8, via social media. The album’s tracklist was announced the following day. Confessions of a Dangerous Mind received generally positive reviews from music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publi- cations, the album received an average score of 65, based on four reviews.[17] In a positive review, Kyle Mullin of Exclaim! gave the album seven out of ten stars, particularly praising the album’s title track, but criticizing the album’s lack of substance: “Fun and compelling as such high points can be, nothing on this album reaches the strata of the title. 2 Final Product.indd 2 27-9-2019 18:33:58 3. Brexit The Brexit is about that the UK want to leave the EU but they delayed it so many times and they still don’t have a deal on the Brexit with the EU. The Prime Minister of the UK Boris Johnson wants to leave the EU at October the 31st but the opposition is afraid of a no-deal Brexit and the consequences are indeed enormous. Boris claims he is negotiating with the EU but he cannot proof it to the other MP’s. Boris doesn’t have the most votes so he thinks he’s still in control of saying we are leaving the EU at October the 31st but because he doesn’t have the most votes he can’t do that the opposition is now taking over his place and they want clarity for the citizens of the UK. Scotland have voted to remain in the EU but they are getting if Boris gets what he wants dragged out of the EU but the citizen of Scotland don’t want that. Boris is trying to make a deal but it doesn’t work out no one like him he gets booed in public because, no one trust him anymore. “ If you want to achieve some really big and interesting goals, you have to learn to fall in love with hard work. -Steve Pavlina 4. South Park South Park is an American animated series, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone that is broadcast on Comedy Central in America and various other channels in other countries. The series began in 1997 and is on its twenty-third season, with a total of 297 episodes at seasons end, one movie, and 7 shorts, as of September 24, 2019. It has also won five Emmy Awards and has been nominated for various other awards. South Park is one of the most misunderstood, and also the most intelligent shows on televi- sion. South Park is a satirical look on most anything from Western society - politics, the media, today’s youth, celebrities, violence in our society, and much much more. However, instead of presenting these issues as they are, they alternately project them through the exploits of four young boys in South Park, Colorado. Unfortunately, many people take the show solely at face value, refusing to see the intelligence in it - South Park is admittedly filled with racist and sexist jokes, along with other offensive material. The problem lies within the fact that most people don’t seem to understand the concept of satire and self parody. The main characters on the show consist of four 10-year-old (previously 8 and 9) young boys; Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny. The show has caused a number of controversies, not just in America. Australia complained after the show depicted Steve Irwin after he had recently died at Satan’s Halloween Party with a stingray hanging out of his chest in the episode “Hell on Earth 2006”.
