Scan the QR code or follow the link below. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SportsmanshipSummit2019 Summit Schedule 8:00 - 8:30 am Registration and Continental Breakfast 8:30 - 9:30 am Opening General Session At the conclusion of this session, adult participants will be asked to exit the Atrium and proceed to the Hall at Patriot Place via the E1 Stadium Exit in the Northeast Lounge. 9:40 - 11:30 am Breakout Sessions Student and adult attendees have been separated into specific groups for today’s breakout sessions. Please check the name badge that you received at the registration table for your specific team logo. 9:40 - 10:30 am First Student Breakout Session Bruins and Celtics (Atrium) Patriots (South Lounge) Red Sox (North Lounge) 10:40 - 11:30 am Second Student Breakout Session Patriots and Red Sox (Atrium) Bruins (South Lounge) Celtics (North Lounge) 9:40 - 11:30 am Adult Breakout Sessions A. ”Finding the Balance” B. Tour of the Hall at Patriot Place At the conclusion of this session, participants will return to Gillette Stadium via the E1 Stadium Entrance and proceed to the Atrium for the next general session. 11:45 am - 12:45 pm Closing General Session 12:45 - 1:30 pm Buffet Lunch Please remain seated until being dismissed by the Gillette Stadium staff to join the buffet lines. Following lunch, attendees are asked to use the E1 Stadium Exit located in the Northeast Lounge. MIAA Staff and Student Advisory Committee members will be directing attendees to the exit and distributing Sportsmanship Honor Roll banners and patches to qualifying schools. 3 Opening General Session National Anthem Performed by Samuel Stearns, Xaverian Brothers High School Welcome Remarks by Phil Vaccaro, MIAA Assistant Director William N. High School District D Avon Middle/High School District H Lowell Catholic High School At the conclusion of the Opening General Session, adult participants will be asked to exit the Atrium and proceed to the Hall at Patriot Place. MIAA Student Advisory Committee members will be waiting in the back of the Atrium to escort adult attendees from the E1 Stadium Exit in the Northeast Lounge to the Hall Entrance. 4 Student Breakout Sessions Student and adult attendees have been separated into specific groups for today’s breakout sessions. MIAA Staff and Student Advisory Committee members will be waiting in the back of the Atrium to escort adult attendees from the E1 Stadium Exit in the Northeast Lounge to the Hall Entrance. Your assistance in proceeding directly upstairs to the location of your first session is greatly appreciated to help the program stay on schedule. A. Auditorium “Finding the Balance” Introduced by: Rob Pearl, MIAA Assistant Director Presented by: Peter Roby, Retired Athletic Director, Northeastern University This session will begin at 10:00am B. Tour of the Hall at Patriot Place The Hall at Patriot Place Presented by Raytheon is dedicated to serving the public through education and entertainment in an inclusive, user-friendly setting; to honoring and promoting individuals that have made exceptional contributions to the New England Patriots organization; to collecting, preserving, interpreting, researching and exhibiting Patriots and New England football historical information and artifacts and sharing their cultural impact with the public; and to promoting amateur football, its contributors and its development within the community. Return to Gillette Stadium At the conclusion of the Adult Breakout Sessions, all participants are asked to return to the Putnam Clubhouse East for the start of the 11:45am General Session. MIAA Student Advisory Committee members will be available to lead the group back to Gillette Stadium. Upon returning to the stadium, please use the E1 entrance and proceed up the escalator to the Atrium. 6 Closing General Session Upon return from the concurrent sessions, students and adults are asked to proceed to the Atrium for the closing general session and award presentations. Please refrain from occupying the seats in front of the stage as they are reserved for award winners and guests. MIAA Ron Burton Community Service Award Presentation Award Introduction by: William N. Attendees are asked to remain seated until being dismissed by the Gillette Stadium staff to join the buffet lines. Following lunch, attendees are asked to use the E1 Stadium Exit located in the Northeast Lounge. Adult Breakout Session “Finding the Balance” Through his various professional responsibilities, Peter Roby has served as a national leader in promoting the positive role that sports can play. He has promoted leadership, sportsmanship, respect and other core values through a variety of media publications worldwide, and continues to do so today. This session will discuss creating and sustaining a culture of success while focusing on the student athlete. Peter Roby Retired Athletic Director 8 Presenters Student Breakout Sessions “Officials, Coaches, Student Athletes & Fans: A Mutual Respect” These panel sessions will be presented by game officials from across the state and will address the importance and need for sportsmanship and respect between all constituents in interscholastic athletics.
