THE COMMUNITY RENEWAL FUND APPLICATION:

• Based on the SABEF Masterplan and the project scope for the Vitality Fund, develop a strategy for enhancing the physical and virtual connectivity between the Town Centre and the Rural Communities.

• Undertake community engagement and workshops within both the town centre and the hinterland, led by drama groups, (e.g. wildworks, knee-high etc), which is documented and shared on social media platforms. (90% revenue 10% capital)

• Develop a means of digitally sharing/streaming events, services and ‘shows’ between TOWN CENTRE & RURAL & community centres. (town centre and rural/coastal communities). Achieved through workshops COASTAL VITALITY and training sessions to educate communities and provide access to digital resources.

• Provide physical resources (computer hardware and software) including appointed positions to REDUCING THE help facilitate the education and ongoing legacy of the digital connectivity. DIGITAL DIVIDE

• Culminate in a series of performances or similar, which have been informed by and involve the communities, streamed between places (e.g. events in the TC shown at locations in hinterland and vice versa). Light and projection into spaces and places as part of a festival of .

BRICKFIELD BUILD (supported by Heritage Lottery Fund) • Build on links we have made with community groups and work with them alongside the MA Architecture students from Falmouth University to complete some small scale build projects, sited around clay country. BRICKFIELD @ V&A 2021 (supported by Arts Council) Collaborate with the V&A East and Theaster Gates to deliver a programme of community engagement in Newham, London, with community groups and MA Performing Arts students from University of East London

BRICKFIELD IN THE CLAYS 2021/22 (supported by Eco-Bos) • Continue to connect with and develop relationships with the local communities with particular focus on connecting West Carclaze & the clay villages through workshops and field trips • Use West Carclaze Skytip as a site for pop-ups and increasing awareness of the project in St Austell and develop as a site for further future workshops and activity: workshops, and two fieldtrips spread over a two - three week period. • Pop-ups Par, , Bugle, Nanpean, St Dennis, St Stephen, Foxhole, Roche – brick- making workshops for the clay villages • Make the firing process something that members of the public and community groups can be involved in • Look at a legacy of work for the clay trails THE CLAY
