Reif Dance Intermediate and Advanced Summer Intensive is an opportunity for dancers to refine their technique and work on new skills in a 5 day immersion program focused on ballet and contemporary dance with professional dancers. The lower levels (Fundamentals through Ballet 2) will be working on tech¬nique, movement coordination, musicality and choreography. Monday, 7/26 – Friday, 7/30 Fundamentals, L1 and L2: - Allison Daigle, 4 + 5 year olds – 10 – 11AM M-F $65 6 + 7 year olds – 11AM – Noon M-F $65 Current Ballet Basics, L1 + L2 – 12:30 – Allison Daigle, Grace Derfler 2:30PM M-F $120 Intermediate (current L3 and 4) – Ashley Chin- Mark, Da’Rius Malone, Deirdre Murnane 9AM– 2:30PM M-F $200 Advanced (current L5 and 6) – Ashley Chin-Mark, Da’Rius Malone, Deirdre Murnane 9AM – 4PM M-F $250

All will culminate in an informal showing on Friday, 7/30 at 5PM

We are also offering 2-hour drop in classes M – F July 5 – July 23 for $20 each. Deirdre Murnane, Dance Director Deirdre grew up in Los Angeles, CA where she studied ballet from her mother, Eva Ralf and Tania Riabouchinska Lichine. She moved to Min- nesota to dance at Minnesota Dance Theater and then became a founding member of Zenon Dance Comapany where she danced for six years. She then found her home with Myron Johnson at Ballet of the Dolls where she danced for six more years and married her husband, Michael Murnane. Deirdre has also danced with Minnesota Opera, Sons of Winter Theater, Shawn Mcconneloug and her Orchestra, Children’s Theater Company, and Macy’s Glamorama. Deirdre taught dance in the Twin Cities from 1984 to 2017 and yoga since 2009. She has a 500-hour yoga teacher certification from Yoga Center Minneapolis, and is certified in Simonson Technique.

Da’Rius Malone, Instructor Da’Rius, from Chicago, IL, began his training under the direction of August Tye at Hyde Park School of Dance. Da’Rius is a 2014 graduate of The Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts), where he won the award for Scholar- Artist and had the privilege to perform works from leading Chicago dance companies such as DanceWorks Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Muntu Dance Theater, and . Da’Rius continued his training at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee recently earned his BFA in Contemporary Dance with a Ballet emphasis. He has performed works by Doug Varone, Joshua Manculich, Merce Cunningham, Danny Buraczeski, Francesca Harper, MADBOOTS and Yury Yanowsky and worked with Adriana Suarez and Gianni DiMarco. Da’Rius has attended intensives with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Theatre (New York City), , Deeply Rooted Dance Theater and 10 Hairy Legs. Da’Rius wants to use his dance education and experience as a professional concert dancer to create a platform to make a positive impact in life.

Ashley Chin-Mark, Instructor Ashley discovered her passion for dance at the Hawkins School of Performing Arts in Folsom, CA where she performed as a Principal with Ballet Folsom for eight years under Deirdre Hawkins and Erin Hogan. During summers, she trained at , Ballet Austin, , Alonzo King LINES Ballet, City Ballet, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. She then danced with Utah Ballet for four years, where she had the opportunity to work with Eloy Barragan, Val Caniparoli, Jay Kim, Calvin Kitten, Melonie Murray, Matthew Neenan, Pablo Piantino, Katie Scherman, Lesley Telford, and Maggie Tesch. Ashley graduated from the University of Utah, with a B.F.A. in Ballet and a B.S. in Strategic Communications, and is an ABT® Certified Teacher in Pre-Primary Level 3. She served on faculty for the Ballet West and University of Utah Summer Intensives and presented research at the Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research and 12 Min Max. Branching into theatricality, Ashley portrayed John Lennon in Loren Wilder’s Nu-Topia multi-media production in Aspen, CO. Ashley served as Assistant to Artistic Director Oleg Vinogradov and Director Jay Kim for the International Ballet Summer Intensive, headlining the Heima Crew from NBC’s World of Dance, for the Ballet Gala, on the Incheon Global Campus in Korea. She most recently earned her certification in Progressing Ballet Technique and is currently pursuing a UX/UI Design Certificate at the University of Minnesota.

Allison Daigle, Instructor Allison is a Reif alum, born and raised in Grand Rapids Minnesota. Allison first started dancing at the Reif when she was six years old. Allison graduated from Grand Rapids High School in 2019 and earned the Reif dance scholarship. Because of the great program at the Reif Center, Allison performed and gained experience from dancing along side James Swell Ballet in Minneapolis. Allison is now attending Itasca Com- munity College to earn a degree in elementary education. Allison is excited to teach and share her love for dance with the younger students.

Grace Ann Derfler | Instructor Grace grew up in a small town in North Carolina where she first started dance classes at the age of five. She participated in competition dance at the state and national level winning many awards and titles. She joined the Reif Dance Company in 2017 after moving to Minnesota and performed in multiple shows with the senior company. She graduated this year (2020) and earned the Reif Dance Scholarship. She is now taking classes at Itasca Community College and plans to participate in the Lake Superior College Radiology program. Grace began teaching hip-hop in 2018 and she is excited and eager to see all of the students this year, mask and all! Reif Dance summer intensive Registration
