The Crane Valley Partnership (includes LB Harrow and other London boroughs in catchment, London Wildlife Trust, public, voluntary and private stakeholders) set up The Crane Valley Project in 2007 with initial funding from Heritage Lottery Fund. The aim is to develop a co-ordinated strategic plan that will raise awareness and support appropriate action for conservation restoration or new approaches to design and management of the River Valley. This strategy will operate across political and geographical boundaries, as part of a regional approach to planning in west London. A strategy for enhancing the quality of green spaces that border the river and improving the links between them is now underway.

The Crane Valley Project hopes to raise funds to enable a three year programme of conservation and community activity concentrating on target areas along the river. In Harrow this includes projects to improve access along the Yeading Brook and treatment of noxious weeds such as Japanese knotweed. The creation of wet woodland and new meadow land is also a possibility. Roxbourne Park and Roxbourne Rough could also benefit.
