Election results will be posted on our website, Facebook and Twitter after 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2020.

Absentee Ballots: Election Officials will begin meeting for the purpose of opening the outer envelope, processing, and canvassing the absentee ballot paperwork on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 (Ark. Code §7-5-416(a)(1). Election officials will meet for the purpose of opening the inner absentee ballot envelope and counting the absentee ballots on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. (Ark. Code §7-5-416(a)(1). This will be held at the Benton Vote Center, 221 N. Main, Benton, Arkansas.

(Ballot Title) An Amendment to the Arkansas Constitution to continue a levy of a one-half percent sales and use tax for state highways and bridges; county roads, bridges, and other surface transportation; and city streets, bridges, and other surface transportation after the retirement of the bonds authorized in Arkansas Constitution, Amendment 91, as special revenue to be distributed under the Arkansas Highway Revenue Distribution Law.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT REFERRED TO THE PEOPLE BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ISSUE NO. 3 (Popular Name) A Constitutional Amendment To Amend The Process For The Submission, Challenge, And Approval Of Proposed Initiated Acts, Constitutional Amendments, And Referenda

(Ballot Title) An Amendment to the Arkansas Constitution to amend the process for the submission, challenge, and approval of proposed initiated acts, constitutional amendments, and referenda.

Benton School District No. 8 41.90 Mill School Tax

The total rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax (the "Statewide Uniform Rate") to be collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No. 74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by this School District and available for maintenance and operation of schools in this District. The total proposed school tax levy of 41.90 mills includes 25.0 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation and 16.90 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by debt service millage may be used by the District for other school purposes.

The total proposed school tax levy of 41.90 mills represents the same rate presently being collected.

Pulaski County Special School District 40.7 Mill School Tax

The total rate proposed above includes the uniform rate of tax (the "Statewide Uniform Rate") to be collected on all taxable property in the State and remitted to the State Treasurer pursuant to Amendment No. 74 to the Arkansas Constitution to be used solely for maintenance and operation of schools in the State. As provided in Amendment No. 74, the Statewide Uniform Rate replaces a portion of the existing rate of tax levied by this School District and available for maintenance and operation of schools in this District. The total proposed school tax levy of 40.7 mills includes 25.0 mills specifically voted for general maintenance and operation, 0.9 mill voted for dedicated maintenance and operation dedicated specifically for technology purposes, and 14.8 mills voted for debt service previously voted as a continuing levy pledged for the retirement of existing bonded indebtedness. The surplus revenues produced each year by debt service millage may be used by the District for other school purposes.

The total proposed school tax levy of 40.7 mills represents the same rate presently being collected.
