These are programs for teachers’ meetings held at Sarcoxie (20 January 1912 and 1 March 1913) and Carl Junction (1 February 1913) in Jasper County, Missouri. Teachers from area schools attended. The meetings were called by County Superintendent L. W. Kost.

These teachers’ meetings consisted of a general session, followed by separate section meetings for high schools and rural schools. Topics included attendance, grading, discipline, rural school consolidation, agricultural education, and “the relation of the board of education to pupil, teacher and parent.”

The first meeting at Sarcoxie was held on Saturday, 20 January 1912. Teachers from the following schools were directed to attend: Banner, Cave Spring, Centennial, Erie, Excelsior, For- est, Gem, Independence, Jasper, LaRussell, Magnet, Pearl Hill, Pleasant Grove, Redwood, Reeds, Round Prairie, Sarcoxie, Temperance, and Union.

The second meeting at Sarcoxie was held on Saturday, 1 March 1913. Teachers from the same schools as in 1912 were invited, along with teachers from Blake, Henry, and Arthur schools.

The meeting at Carl Junction was held on Saturday, 1 February 1913. County Superinten- dent L. W. Kost directed teachers from the following schools to attend: Opolis, Blackberry, Geor- gia City, Galesburg, Stone, Burton, Smithfield, Brick, Central City, Silver Creek, Medoc, Liberal, Center, Waco, Twin Grove, Enterprise, Bellcille, and Prairie Hill. Teachers from other schools, along with “directors and patrons,” were also urged to attend.

The programs were printed on single sheets of paper, including a schedule of sessions and the names of presenters. The program for 20 January 1912 is available only as a photoreproduc- tion.
