2. If renting a backdrop is not in the budget, you can create a simple ship’s railing out of standard PVC pipe purchased at a home improvement warehouse. Order a few basic life preserver decorations from a party supply store, add your ship’s name in stick-on letters, and you have a great simple, inexpensive set! A cruise vacation is one of the most fun and relaxing trips EVER! Vacationers have zero responsibility for the duration of the cruise. All they have to do is enjoy themselves. You want your audience to have a similar experience during your show. Let them settle into their seats and be transported to a world of white sand, beautiful water, and exotic ports.

To help them get in the mood for a fun evening, create a festive atmosphere in the lobby. Some ideas to get you started:

Provide Captain’s hats for all of your crew members (Greeters, Ticket Sellers, Ticket Takers, Ushers) to identify them as part of the production Set up a photo booth in the lobby for pre-boarding photos Create an archway of balloons at the theater entrance doors Put up “Bon Voyage” banners Set up a refreshment stand with tropical drinks
