How is the field trip directly related to a unit of study or school sponsored program/activity which student are involved in? This trip helps to support our Mission Statement's hope that our students become active Global Citizens. https://www.eftours.com/educational-tours/collections/student-summits

Is the field trip used to build group identity and/or culminate or celebrate group work? Yes, students work on a project at the summit with students from around the world and present to the entire group at the end. Does the field trip enhance extracurricular activities? The purpose of this trip is to enhance student's understanding of themselves as global citizens. I think these trips are an amazing opportunity for students to see the world and view themselves as an active part of a global community. Any additional information or comments? I am currently taking students on the EF Global Leadership Summit in Berlin this summer which focuses on innovations in technology and it's impact on our current world. We will be traveling to Italy before hand to look at innovations in technology in history.

My hope is that I can run the Global Leadership Summit every summer and provide students with the opportunity to travel and learn with students from around the world.

I need School Committee permission before I start advertising for Davos, and I want to get started as soon as possible so that we can guarantee spots in Davos. These trips fill up quickly. Thanks!

Services being provided Passports will arrange flights, all transportation within Italy (we will have a private bus for the duration of the trip), hotel reservations, meal reservations, local guides, all sites visits and entrance fees. They will also provide us with a tour guide/courier who will be with our group for the entire trip.

How is the field trip directly related to a unit of study or school sponsored program/activity which student are involved in? Yes, this itinerary is created specifically to align with our Latin curriculum. It begins in Pompeii and the Naples Archaeological Museum where students can observe the monuments and artifacts of Roman daily life, which is an integral part of the Latin I curriculum. On Capri, we visit the ruins of the palace of Emperor Tiberius, which is one of the emperors students study in depth in Latin 3. In Latin 2, students study classical architecture and the monuments of Rome extensively and learn how to read inscriptions; they will have the opportunity to view these monuments in the Forum and practice reading inscriptions in the Capitoline Museum and National Museum of Epigraphy housed in the Baths of Diocletian. The sculptures viewed in the Galleria Borghese reflect the transformations depicted in Ovid, which are read in Latin 3 and Latin 4. The Museum also houses sculptures and paintings depicting Aeneas with Anchises which are based on passages from book two of Vergil's Aeneid, which students read Latin 4.

Is the field trip used to build group identity and/or culminate or celebrate group work? No, although it does help to create a sense of community within the Latin program.

Does the field trip enhance extracurricular activities? No, this is trip is designed to complement the Latin curriculum that is part of the normal course of study for Latin students.

I also promise, to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Releasees against any and all legal

claims and proceedings of any description that may have been asserted in the past, or may be asserted in the future, directly or indirectly, arising from personal injuries to my child or property damage resulting from my child's participation in the Concord Public Schools or the Concord Carlisle Regional School District voluntary athletic, recreation or travel programs. I further affirm that I have read this Consent and Release Form and that I understand the contents of this Form. I understand that my child's participation in these programs is voluntary and that my child and I are free to choose not to participate in said programs.
