Confectionery Work Experience FOUNDER GLOBAL CONFECTION CONNECTIONS LLC 2015-PRESENT Global Confection Connections provides technical solutions to the global confectionery and related industries with a unique mission. Proceeds will be used to fund philanthropic consulting services to global non-profits who are working to eradicate childhood malnutrition, promote the health, education and leadership of women, small farmers, business owners etc.

PRINCIPAL SCIENTIST 1986-2015 • 2015 Development and implementation of ViVi, a highly fortified peanut snack that Hershey donates to school children in Ghana; 50,000 children fed in 2015. 2014 completion of design, implementation of Project Peanut Butter’s Ghana factory for production of Ready To Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF).

• Development and Instruction of Sweets & Refreshment (S&R) Enthusiasts courses for Hershey employees with 4.9/5 ratings.

• Development and global implementation of production of Sweet, Spicy, Refreshment products generating hundreds of millions in sales for Hershey’s S&R SBU in US, Mexico, China, India, Canada including hard candy, chews, licorice, spicy candy, gummys, panned candies, chewing gum, mints, breath fresheners for Hershey’s highly profitable brands including , Ice Breakers, Breath Savers, Pelon Pelo Rico, Ice Breaker’s Liquid Ice, Good & Plenty, Maha Lacto, Food Service, Licensed and other brands.

• Problem solving, production efficiency expertise generating significant savings for global production facilities including contract-manufacturers.

• Led R&D efforts for integration after acquisition of the Leaf, Inc. and gum and mints brands into the Hershey organization including production implementation into Hershey plants and contract-manufacturers.

• Designed S&R areas of Hershey’s new Innovation Center for R&D in China. • Mentored multiple interns, new hires, etc. from the US, Switzerland, China, Mexico and India. Specialist in accelerated shelf life testing as related to products and packaging.

DIRECTOR, R&D, CONFECTIONERY LEAF, INC. 1986-1997 • Successfully led a team of R&D scientists to develop and implement production of new products under the brands of Jolly Rancher, Chuckles, Good & Plenty, Good ’n Fruity, Switzer licorice including significant savings related to product and process improvements.

• Worked with the transition team for integration of Leaf, Inc. products into Hershey in 1997.

• Designed and implemented operation of Leaf’s US Technical Center.

• Developed cross-functional global teams to implement product development, provide global production and ingredient solutions, implemented a global R&D exchange program for R&D employees.

Philanthropic Volunteer Experiences - Global Confection Connections 2016 - Tiny People Matter: Trained 80 peanut farmers in Malawi and Zambia for safe peanut handling practices, aflatoxin awareness and prevention 2016 - Mana Nutrition: completion of RUTF emulsifier trials, separation testing training 2017 - CNFA’S Farmer to Farmer Volunteer, Malawi: Kasekese Cooperative of 38 women, 12 men producer of peanut butter. Completed training of safe peanut practices, developed SOP’s, HACCP program, sanitation program, aflatoxin awareness and prevention.
