"Come to the Quiet" A season of song, prayer and contemplation. This rich service of worship will be marked by prayer, simple meditative songs, reading of the Word, commitment to the ministry of reconciliation in the world, and a time for silence. The call to watch, pray, listen and wait has been at the heart of worship from the beginning of Christianity. Join us Late Night in the Williams Performing Arts Center Lobby following Sunday's evening lecture. 4 In a post-Christiancu lture, we can no longerassume an "if we buildit , they will come" mentality of churchl ife. We mustrecover a sensethat thechur ch is a missionarycommunity sent into thewor ld. Missionarywork requiresboth deeper notions of thegospel and fresh readings in the culture. This year'sLectureship is committedto bothgospe l and culture.
