REGISTRATION

Registration for all youth and adults attending the is handled at the unit level. Whether camping the whole weekend or just attending Saturday, the fee for each participant is $25.00. This fee includes all the Jamboree activities on Saturday, a box lunch, a patch, as well as the special evening show. Registration after October 1 remains at $25 but does not include the box lunch.

Friends and family members who wish to visit the Jamboree for the day on Saturday should register with their unit as a day visitor. The fee for guests is $15.00 which includes all the day’s activities, the evening show, but not a patch or box lunch. Guests may purchase food from vendors or make other arrangements for meals.

Online registration is open on the Samoset website and will close October 1. Please visit www.samoset.org.

Registration fees are transferable but not refundable.

The Jamboree is a rain or shine event. No refunds for inclement weather.

How to Register More Participants: If you have already entered a Jamboree registration for you unit, you can add more participants at any time up until October 1. Changes after this date can only be made by contacting the Samoset Council support team at 715-355-1450.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Adult Leader Meeting: An adult leader meeting will be held on Friday evening to share final details about the event.

First Aid: All injuries should be brought to the attention of the Jamboree Staff. The First Aid office will be staffed through the entire camporee.

Food: Units will be responsible for their own food for the weekend. You will need a breakfast for Saturday, a supper of Saturday, and a breakfast for Sunday. To get the most out of the Jamboree has to offer, units camping at the event should plan simple meals cooked on propane/ gas stoves to avoid having to spend a lot of time preparing, cooking and cleaning up. No wood or charcoal fires are allowed at the Jamboree. This includes campfires.

Your fees include a box lunch for Saturday’s lunch time meal. You will receive a token to redeem for your box lunch. A box lunch will be provided for Saturday lunch. Lunch will be served from 11:30-1:00.

Water: Water is available onsite, however is not located in each campsite. Uniform: Participants are encouraged to wear their activity uniform ( related shirt) throughout the weekend. Scouts are requested to wear their field uniform for the show Saturday evening.

Emergency Information: If emergency contact must be made with a camping participant, the following information must be provided when the emergency number is called. The phone number is 715- 490- 2241.

1. Name of the participant that they wish to reach 2. The name and call back number of the person the participant should contact 3. The participant’s unit number PROCEDURES

Check in: The Jamboree gates (Gate 3) will open at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 12th. Please do not arrive before then. Please follow the signs to the registration station. You will receive your final event details, box lunch tokens, maps, etc. The unit will be given campsite assignments, and any required information.

We want the check in process to be as smooth as possible. To prepare for check in, please complete the Unit Roster indicating all Scouts and adults attending. If the unit still owes fees, have a check ready to hand in at this point (made out to Samoset Council, BSA).

Sunday Morning Clean-Up: Each unit will be assigned a clean-up task. Each task will not take long at all, but will help us all get home much quicker.

Check out: You may check out any time on Sunday prior to 10:00 am. Your troop site has to be checked-out by a Camporee Staff member BEFORE you leave. All troops must be checked out by 10am.

Behavior: Many people will observe the conduct and appearance of your Scouts while attending the Jamboree. The Scout Oath and Law are the standards of behavior for all participants. All participants and their unit leaders are responsible for proper conduct and behavior.

CAMPING AREA All camping is to be in the designated areas only, so please check in prior to setting up camp.

Weekend Parking: When checking in, you will be given directions for getting to the parking area. A vehicle may go to the campsite on Friday night to unload. It then must be moved to the designated parking area. No vehicles are permitted to stay in the camping area.

Day Only Parking: Upon checking in, you will be directed to the day parking area.

Family Camping / RV Camping: Family and/ or RV camping is not available at the Jamboree. Family members are encouraged to camp with the units or come as Day Visitors on Saturday. Anyone with special needs can contact Scott Domino at 715-490-2241 for accommodations.

Electricity: Electricity is not available in the camp sites. Anyone with special needs is to contact the committee for accommodations. Fires: No fires are permitted on the Festival Grounds because this is rented space and not our property. This includes dutch oven cooking (unless using a dutch oven table).

Lighting: Bring your own Lanterns. Lanterns using liquid fuel must have proper adult supervision at all times. No liquid fuel, other than in a lantern or cooking stove, will be permitted in the campsite.

Quite Time: Camp quite hours are from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am the next morning. We ask that no radios be brought to the Camporee.

Restrooms: There will be several portable latrines located throughout the festival grounds that can be use. Some will be locked and should not be unlocked. We will pay a fee is these are unlocked.

There are permanent restroom facility on he grounds that will be open. However, there is no shower facility.

Garbage: Each scouting unit is expected to take their trash with them. There are dumpsters around the festival camping area.

PROGRAMS

Program Scheduling: To make it possible for participants to enjoy as much of the Jamboree as possible, we have set up this event like a County Fair, where the various activities and exhibits are open all day long. Participants can choose to spend as much time as they like at the ones that interest them the most. There are no set time blocks or required events.

Evening Show: No noteworthy event is complete without a show. We have a show planned for Saturday evening. The show will feature an improv group, the band Hyde, and much more. We are holding this ultimate closing event at the Grand Stands. Official field uniforms are required for this event.

Chapel Service: There will be two chapel service opportunities Saturday afternoon. A non-denominational service and a catholic service. Trading Post: The Jamboree will have an onsite Trading Post. The Trading Post will have special Jamboree items and apparel, BSA Scout Shop items and souvenirs. Quantities on some items will be limited, so be sure to come early for the best selection. The on- site trading post will accept cash, checks and major credit cards.
