On the day entries please register before 9:30am at the secretaries stand located next to the Heavy Horse Show ring.

Classes 1 to 4 for ANY recognised Heavy Horse Breed.

In hand Stallions. Class 1. To be shown in stallion harness. Camborne Show Silver Cup In hand 3 years old and under. 1, 2 or 3 year old Colt, Filly or Gelding (Please ensure Colts are properly harnessed)

Class 2. Those placed first and second in classes 1.2.3.4 will be judged for BEST IN SHOW.

The winner will qualify for the West of England Heavy Horse In Best in Show Hand Championships Qualification rules are at the back of this Schedule Qualifier:- The west of England Championships are sponsored by: - Wadworth & Co Brewers of Devizes, Wilts

Horses qualifying for the Championships and other horses from the same stable may enter and take part in the Wessex Heavy Horse Society’s Annual Show on the same day. Show classes include: -

Mare and Geldings 3 Yearling, 2 year old, Colt & Filly Foals Harness, Harness Ladies Cart , Agricultural and Trade Turnout – (continued next page) Overnight and Show Day stabling available.

Horse and Handler will complete four manoeuvres: -  A Figure of eight  A reverse into a box Class 8.  A complete turnabout in a circle  A Zig Zag between traffic cones The circle will be constructed from plastic Traffic Cones. THIS WILL BE AGAINST THE CLOCK. The handler and horse completing in the shortest time and with the lowest penalty points will be the winner. Cartwright Cup Working Harness

The winner of class 10 will qualify for the West of England Championships

Heavy Horse Turnout

Class 11. Singles, Pairs or Teams Agricultural, trade or ladies cart Leonard Mitchell Memorial Trophy presented by the Mitchell family Ridden Heavy Horse or Working Cob – Horses 4 Years and over

Walk, Trot and optional Canter. Class 12. Absolutely no galloping allowed in the show ring. Flights to be removed from horses’ manes please. Trophy presented by David Udy and Bradley Cup for best ridden working Cob

GRAND PARADE Owners and horses are asked to parade for the final presentation of Trophies and to be entitled to travelling subsistence. Camborne Show Special Rosettes to all on parade.

ROSETTES & TROPHIES ALL TROPHIES MUST BE SIGNED FOR BEFORE LEAVING THE SHOW GROUND.

THE SHIRE HORSE SOCIETY The Cornish Heavy Horse Society is affiliated to The Shire Horse Society. A Shire Horse Society Silver Spoon and Rosette will be awarded to the Best Mare and/or Filly and the Best Stallion. This award is subject to the Shire Horse Society Special Conditions of offer.

THE SUFFOLK HORSE SOCIETY The Suffolk Horse Society offers a brass and two rosettes.

THE CLYDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY The Cornish Heavy Horse Society is affiliated with the Clydesdale society. The Clydesdale Horse Society offers a Rosette for Ridden Class. A Shield Winner Rosette (best yearling or two year old). A Rosette Qualifier Young Handler aged 12 to 16 years. 3 Merits to distribute over the two Young Handler Classes.

The Rules and Regulations for all special awards will be displayed on the day.

Rules of the show

Bullying and Bad behaviour towards People or Animals will not be tolerated Any Bad behaviour towards our committee and officials will result in immediate warning and possible banning The Judge’s decision is final Any complaints must be made in writing with a £30 deposit, if the committee see the complaint unfit the deposit may not be returned. Correct and clean turnout of both horse and handler/rider is a condition of entry, determined by the Judge and steward. Once judging has commenced no late comers will be accepted into the ring Failure to comply with the rules will result in loss of entry and possible removal from the showground

RULES OF QUALIFICATION - WEST of ENGLAND HEAVY HORSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

 HEAVY HORSE CHAMPION IN HAND  HEAVY HORSE CHAMPION IN SHOW HARNESS

1. Qualifiers must be from Recognised Heavy Horse Breeds,of any age, Stallions, Colts, Geldings, Fillies and Mares.

2. (a) The In-Hand Qualifier must be the Show Champion of the Day. If already qualified at a previous Qualifier Show then if necessary the qualifier position can go down the line to 4th (b) If the top 4 horses have already qualified then NO qualifier can be nominated The Show Harness and Decorated Harness qualifier must be the highest placed on the day,down to 4th position if necessary. A set of harness can only be used upon one qualifying horse.

3. Should a Qualifying Horse refuse a First Qualification this will exclude that horse from qualifying in the same Championship at any further Qualifying Shows that year.

4. If the Qualifier subsequently be unable to attend the Championships at the Turnpike Showground (North Dorset) then the Championship Secretary must be notified. The position can then be passed to the next eligible horse

5. Each horse that qualifies will receive a Qualifier Rosette

Equine Flu All equine entries must comply with current equine flu vaccination requirements. All horses must have been vaccinated with the primary course (1st vaccination and then 2nd vaccination between 21-92 days), first booster (150 – 215 days) and all subsequent boosters (within 365 days) Horses may compete having received the primary course and prior to the first booster but not within 7 days of receiving a vaccine dose. Horses must have been vaccinated within 6 months but not less than 7 days of arriving at the show. Foals are exempt of this requirement. Please ensure that you bring your horse’s passport as random checks will be carried out. Anyone who’s horse is not vaccinated will be asked to leave the show ground. There will be no refunds or travel subsistence’s paid.

Public Liability Insurance All exhibitors must have public liability insurance and a copy of the policy MUST be available for production at the show ground if requested. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have adequate liability insurance to indemnify the organisers of the event for any claims against death, injury, disease or damage to any person, vehicle or property arising from or caused by the actions of their horse or rider/driver during any activities being carried out in connection with the event. Exhibitors are advised to insure against fire and other appropriate risks as regard to their own property and against third party claims.

DIRECTIONS TO CAMBORNE SHOWGROUND. From the A.30 Camborne – by-pass Leave the A.30 at CAMBORNE WEST and follow the Show Signs and RED arrows to the show ground. The Show Ground is situated on the B3301 to Portreath Coast road and is adjacent to Hells Mouth.
