1 About the Game Changer Awards

Every year, Coaching Corps Game Changer Awards celebrates the transformative power of coaching by honoring those who have empowered and inspired athletes at every level to be their best selves.
Presenters and honorees are prominent representatives from Bay Area professional sports teams, including the Oakland Athletics, San Jose Earthquakes, San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Raiders, San Jose Sharks, and Golden State Warriors. These professional athletes will be honoring a coach who made a difference in their lives. However, the true hero of the evening will be one of our Coaching Corps coaches who will be honored with a Coach of the Year Award.
This one-of-a-kind event raises funds to ensure that all youth — regardless of circumstance — have the chance to develop character through sports with a caring and trained Coaching Corps coach. Since its inception, the Game Changer Awards has raised over $4 million dollars toward Coaching Corps’ mission.
About Coaching Corps
Since 2002, Coaching Corps has been dedicated to harnessing the power of service and sports to inspire and mentor youth in underserved communities. Coaching Corps recruits, trains and supports thousands of volunteers who create opportunities for kids to participate in high-quality afterschool sports programs that allow them to embrace a healthy lifestyle and reach their full potential. Based in Oakland, California, Coaching Corps is a 501(c)(3) organization.
