Press Information Bureau Government of India Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurshipannounces fourth edition of National Entrepreneurship Awards, 2019 Posted On: 08 AUG 2019 6:21PM by PIB Delhi The fourth edition of the National Entrepreneurship Awards, instituted in a bid to recognize and encourage outstanding Indian Entrepreneurs andcatalyse a cultural shift in youth for entrepreneurship by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has opened for nominations. The National Entrepreneurship Awards (NEA)2019 aim to honour outstanding young first generation entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders for their exceptional contribution in entrepreneurship development. With NEA, the Government of India will reward the most innovative, inspiring and accomplished micro entrepreneurs to scale up their business. The objective of these awards is to recognize the businesses and businessmen, not only to improve their marketability, but also address discontinuity towards better business systems and enhanced products & services with the help of a prize money. The awards ceremony will be held in November this year. There are a total of 45 specially designed awards to be bestowed – 39 Enterprise Awards and 6 Awards for Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Builders. To be eligible for these awards, the nominee must be under the age of 40 years;they must be first-generation entrepreneurs; the nominee (entrepreneur) must hold 51% or more equity and ownership of the business; and women entrants must individually or collectively own 75% or more of the enterprise. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, said, “This year marks the fourth year of running the National Entrepreneurship Awards, and I am gratified by the continued interest of the entrepreneurs in the initiative. -

PRESS INFORMATION BUREAU GOVERNMENT OF INDIA ***** Government takes various measures to raise India’s ranking in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ to top 50 in the world New Delhi, December 20, 2016 Agrahayana 29, 1938 Government of India in its efforts to improve the business climate of the country and also improve country’s ranking in the World Bank’s report on Ease of Doing Business; held a meeting yesterday under the chairmanship of the Union Finance Minister Shri. Arun Jaitley. The meeting was also attended by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Urban Development; Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Law and Justice; Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Commerce & Industry; Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy and Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Finance). Secretaries of various Departments of Central Government also participated in the meeting including DEA, DIPP, MCA, M/o Justice, M/o UD, M/o Civil Aviation, D/o Revenue, D/o Land Resources, CBEC Chairperson & Chief Secretary of NCT of Delhi and senior officials of Govt. of Maharashtra. Secretary, DIPP informed that Nodal Departments have been identified for each indicator who will lead the reform process ensuring country’s improvement in ranking across the 10 indicators. Departments gave a brief overview of the reforms undertaken recently and agreed to implement the suggested reforms by January, 2017. It was further agreed that the Departments will hold intensive stakeholder consultation to get their feedback on the reforms undertaken and also engage with the respondents to ensure that the reforms are felt at the ground. -

PM Modi to Head Cabinet Committees on Growth, Employment
PM Modi to head Cabinet committees on growth, employment News To address the twin problems of sluggish economic growth and rising unemployment, the government has constituted two Cabinet committees to be chaired by Prime Minister. 1. Committee on Investment and Growth The five-member Committee on Investment and Growth consists of Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister for Road Transport and Highways and MSME Nitin Gadkari and Railways Minister Piyush Goyal. This committee will be a focussed group to take measures to bring investments and spur growth in the critical sectors including infrastructure, manufacturing and agriculture, as the economy is passing through a highly volatile period. Reason for committee on Investment and Growth With the GDP falling to 5.8% in the last quarter of 2018-19, lowest in last five years, the committee on economic growth will prepare a road map to bring the economy back on the growth trajectory. The GDP growth for 2018-19 was 6.8 %, against the target of 7.2 %. 2. Cabinet committee for Employment and Skill Development The Cabinet Committee on Employment and Skill Development constitutes of 10 members including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Ramesh Pokhriyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mahendra Nath Pandey, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, and Hardeep Singh Puri. Reasons for committee for Employment and Skill Development Employment data for 2017-18, released on May 31, brought out that India’s unemployment rate rose to 6.1% in the said period, which is the highest in 45 years. -

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 4293 TO BE ANSWERED ON 22.03.2021 IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON TRIBAL COMMUNITIES 4293: SHRI MOHAMMED FAIZAL P.P.: Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has made an assessment of the impact of COVID 19 and the lockdown on tribal communities; (b) if so, the details thereof including the tribal population and districts affected by COVID-19; (c) if not, the reasons therefor; (d) the measures undertaken by the Ministry to address problems faced by tribal communities because of COVID-19 and the lockdown as a result thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SMT. RENUKA SINGH SARUTA) (a) to (c) The Ministry of Tribal Affairs had assessed district wise confirmed COVID 19 cases for 177 tribal dominated Districts based on the data mapped in the website https://pracriti.iitd.sc.in/ a dynamic dashboard which has been developed and maintained by a group of volunteers from M3RG of IIT Delhi. It was observed that about 3% of total confirmed cases in the country were from 177 tribal dominated districts till June, 2020. (d) The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has taken up the following proactive measures to lessen the adverse effects on tribal community during the Covid-19 pandemic- • On request of this Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs vide Order No. 40-3/2020-DM-I(A) dated 16/04/20 issued guidelines aiming to relax the provisions of lockdown for Collection, harvesting and processing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP)/ Non Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) by STs and other forest dwellers in forest areas across the country. -
