February 2019 Newsletter FEBRUARY 2019 NEWSLETTER The first half of our season had an incredible “lot of fun” in it, but, that is behind us. It is time to focus on all the excitement ahead, and, my goodness, we have a very busy and eventful second half coming up. There are: Friday Night Dances, Live Concerts, tournaments of all kinds and a plethora of mental and physical activities. As you can tell, we are excited about the rest of our season, but we should probably focus on one month at a time. This is what we have in store for you this February: C O N C E R T S “TURN THE PAGE” “A TRIBUTE TO BOB SEGER” SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2 at 7:00PM An incredible re-creation of the live Bob Seeger Experience performed by the Sam Morrison Band. Each song is performed exactly as you remember it and it is delivered with all the passion and excitement you would expect in a Bob Seger show. “ULTIMATE CHICAGO” SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9 at 7:00PM Former touring member of the band Chicago, Kenny Cetera is the younger brother of Peter and contributing vocalist on Chicago 17, still the band’s #1 all time grossing record. Kenny is joined on stage by a hand selected band of incredible musicians coming together for one reason – to celebrate the music of one of the greatest bands of all times – CHICAGO. “ABBAFAB” SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 16 at 7:00PM This multimedia production is a tribute to some of the greatest music produced in the 70s and 80s including monster hits such as “Waterloo,” “Fernando,” “Honey Honey,” “Dancing Queen” and countless others. From ABBA’s earliest hits to “Mamma Mia.” Our vocalists and musicians have toured the world as solo artists and band members and have come together to create the most entertaining ABBA tribute on the market today. “HERMAN’S HERMITS” “STARRING PETER NOONE” SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23 at 3:00PM and 7:00PM Accompanied by his band, Herman’s Hermits, Peter Noone plays to sold-out venues the world over. At the age of fifteen, Peter achieved international fame as a lead singer of the legendary Sixties pop band “Herman’s Hermits.” His classic hits included: “I’m Into Something Good,” Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got A Lovely Daughter,” “I’m Henry VII, I am,” “Silhouettes,” “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” “Just A Little Bit Better,” “Wonderful World,” “There’s A Kind Of Hush,” “A Must To Avoid,” “Listen People,” The End Of The World,” and “Dandy.” Herman’s Hermits sold over sixty million recordings. In all, fourteen singles and seven albums went gold. The Hermits were twice named Cashbox’s “Entertainer of the Year.” F R I D A Y N I G H T D A N C E S You will be happy to know that the excellent DANCE BANDS that has played for us year after year will return in February, so gather your friends and show up at the Crystal Ballroom for a real good time every Friday night, starting at 7:00pm, and still only costs a mere Five Bucks. WHITE HORSE FEBRUARY 1, 2019 DEPENDABLES FEBRUARY 8, 2019 OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL FEBRUARY 15, 2019 DAKOTA PLAYERS FEBRUARY 22, 2019 KARAOKE WITH JANE WEDNESDAYS EVERY DAY IS A FUN DAY AT WESTWIND HAPPY HOUR FROM 3:00 - 6:00PM EVERY DAY AND ALL DAY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY MONDAYS: Pot Luck in the Coyote Room and Bingo in the Crystal Ballroom. TUESDAYS: Tacos and Margaritas. WEDNESDAYS: Jam Session in the Crystal Ballroom and Wings and Karaoke in the Cheers Lounge. THURSDAYS: Steak Night. FRIDAYS: Tournaments, Golf, Dances, and always a Fish Fry in the Cactus Cafe and Cheers Lounge. SATURDAYS: In addition to Special Entertainment Shows we have BBQ's and Musical Pool Parties from noon until 4:00pm (weather permitting), and the Cactus Café’s Saturday Special is Prime Rib. SUNDAYS: Snowbird Church at 9:00am, and Sunday Brunch following the Church Service. REGULAR ACTIVITIES Our weekly schedule is overflowing with all kinds of leisure time activities, like VOLLEY BALL, BOCCE BALL, and SHUFFLEBOARD matches... There are passionate BILLIARDS and POKER competitions all the time and very spirited and energetic PICKLEBALL tournaments every day, so there is no lack of opportunities to have a good time. IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS F E B R U A R Y E V E N T S The SUPERBOWL PARTY is a must for all football fans, so come to Cheers ready for action. The CRAFTS FAIR is on the 8th. NIGHT GOLF will take place on the 12th. SHRINER'S GOLF TOURNAMENT happens on the 16th. MARDI GRAS PARADE and DANCE takes place on the 17th. POKER RUNS are very popular, and we have one lined SHUFFLEBOARD CORN HOLE PICKLEBALL YOGA AT WESTWIND RV AND GOLF RESORT GARY & BRENDA YOGA INSTRUCTORS COMFORT HEALTH HAPPINESS If you're stressed or just want to have some quality "Me Time," we highly recommend a session of luxurious Massage Therapy, or let your locks get that style and color you always wanted at our Hair Studio.     PETER NOONE Biography Peter Blair Denis Bernard Noone is a multi-talented entertainer, who has been delighting audiences nearly all his life. He was born in Manchester, England, where he studied voice and acting at St. Bede’s College and the Manchester School of Music and Drama. As a child, he played “Stanley Fairclough” in the long-running British soap opera Coronation Street. He was also featured in the television series Knight Errant, Family Solicitor and Monro’s Saki Stories. At the age of fifteen, Peter achieved international fame as “Herman”, lead singer of the legendary pop band Herman’s Hermits. His classic hits include: “I’m Into Something Good”, “Mrs. Brown, you’ve Got A Lovely Daughter”, “I’m Henry VIII, I Am”, “Silhouettes”, “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat”, “Wonderful World”, “Just A Little Bit Better”, “There’s A Kind of Hush”, “A Must To Avoid”, “Listen People”, “No Milk Today” “The End of the World” “Leaning On A Lamp Post”, and “Dandy”. Ultimately, Herman’s Hermits sold over fifty-two million recordings. In all, fourteen singles and seven albums went gold. As “Herman”, the photogenic Noone graced the cover of nearly every international publication including Time Magazine. He performed on hundreds of television shows and appeared with such luminaries as Ed Sullivan, Jackie Gleason, Dean Martin and Danny Kaye.
