Timestamp: 10 June 2020 Preparations underway to open the District’s high streets safely Planning is underway at the Council to support the safe reopening of Town Centre and the District’s market towns. Following the Government’s announcement that high streets can reopen from 15 June, the Council is working with businesses and various partners to ensure that measures are in place to make the District’s high streets safe for residents, visitors and traders. Plans include: • Comprehensive signage for shops and directional street and pavement markings enabling shoppers to observe social distancing. • Further signage will be used in car parks and public toilets, all aiming to guide and reassure the public. • Top tips for retail businesses looking to reopen. • Health and safety advice and guidance from the Council's Environmental Health and Licencing team. • A digital map will be produced for every town centre throughout the District to indicate which public toilets are open for use.

Horsham Markets fully re-open Market operators Food Rocks have introduced a new layout for Saturday's Horsham Markets to ensure social distancing is adhered to and maintain the safety of all visitors. • Farmers Market - local produce from Swan Walk to War Memorial • Street Food - food to takeaway from around the Carfax Bandstand • Art, Craft, Flowers, Homeware, Clothing & Jewellery - Market Square and surrounding areas Find out more about the markets and the measures that have been put in place.

Parks and countryside Skate Park and Highwood Pump Track re-open Broadbridge Heath Skate Park and Highwood Pump Track are open for public use with social distancing guidelines in place to help save lives. Horsham Park Skate Park remains closed for the foreseeable future while maintenance takes place. Even though these outdoor skate parks are re-opening, the public must follow the Government advice about social distancing and safety. We are also asking everyone to follow Skateboard ’s guidelines when using open skate parks and pump tracks.

Warnham Local Nature Reserve re-open As of Monday 8 June, Local Nature Reserve is open with safety measures in place. Visit our website for more information about the safety measures. For the time being the reserve is free to enter, but a donation box is located by the temporary entrance and any contributions to the upkeep of the reserve will be greatly appreciated. We would ask all our visitors to help us keep the reserve open by following these safety measures. Public health remains paramount and we do reserve the right to limit our visitor numbers to maintain adequate social distancing.

Parking Car park charges to resume in from Monday 15 June Parking charges are set to resume in Horsham District council-owned car parks from Monday 15 June 2020 when many non-essential shops are allowed to reopen. During the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown the Council has been using its financial reserves to cover a loss of income of some £0.75 million a month and this is unsustainable for any length of time.

The YMCA have launched an awareness campaign for their new digital service, e- wellbeing, developed by their counselling team YMCA Dialogue, for young people in . It provides advice, support and a clear pathway to local services for any young person in need.
