L I 1 D Undergraduates Honored For Excellence bo By Sean J. Doorly A number of students and several faculty members were honored at the Staller Center Tuesday Night at the Eighth Annual Cerem- ony for Undergraduate Excellence Recogni- tion and the President's award for Excellence in Teaching. Seventy-one students were recipients of the Undergraduate Excellence Recognition Award, presented by Egon Neuberger, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies, and Mary Vogel. Among the recipients were: Pol- ity President Sorin Abraham and Polity Vice President Daniel Slepian; Yves Gabriel, Presi- dent of the IFSC; Specula Editor-in-Chief Erin K McCabe; former Statesman Editor-in-Chief Amelia Sheldon and Anna Bentsianov, who walked away with four awards during the ceremony. President John Marburger presented the President's Award for Excellence in Teach- ing. Those honored included: Harriet Allen- tuch (French and Italian); Lou Chamon Deutsch (Hispanic Languages and Litera- ture); Paul Kumpel (Mathematics); Joseph Lauher (Chemistry); Frederick Miller (Pathology) and Judith Tanur (Sociology).
