Session 1

Post-Corona, Change of Education Paradigm

Since the spread of COVID-19, a contact-free culture has rapidly spread worldwide, and the era of non-contact education has also opened. According to a survey conducted by UNESCO in April, 91 percent of the world’s students (1.6 billion students) were mandated to take classes online at home due to the outbreak of the pandemic. As a result, the importance of systematic changes in traditional methods of school education and the use of technology as an essential tool are increasing, and demand for diverse non-contact education models is growing accordingly.

In the first session, leaders and experts of global education gather to cultivate the high-dimensional and socio-emotional abilities of students amid the corona pandemic and the 4th Industrial Revolution. Speakers will present and discuss the revolutionary changes in education, including topics related to the use of cutting-edge technologies such as AI(artificial intelligence) and the drastic shift of teachers to instructional designers. 12 | Coronomics, Anchoring to a New World!

AI Education and Disruptive Innovation

A step towards the AI(artificial intelligence) education revolution is crucial in the breakout of the COVID-19 crisis. The world has been experimenting with different forms of education systems, and it has been proven that it is no longer just the traditional educational system in which teachers and students have class in the same space and classroom.

Now is the time to take one step further and consider ways to utilize AI- supported ITSs(Intelligent Tutoring Systems) or ALSs(Adaptive Learning Systems). Students can learn at different levels and speeds, and teachers, having less work of conveying basic knowledge thanks to the role of AI, can cooperate with students and work on projects requiring problem- solving, and focus on student guidance and counseling necessary for each student through building better relationships with each individual.

Session 2 discusses the educational system and its future direction that the pandemic has shifted with experts who have been leading disruptive educational innovation beyond the existing educational system even before the coronavirus breakout. 22 | Coronomics, Anchoring to a New World!

Session 4

Precision Medicine and Future of Medical Science

The paradigm of healthcare is changing as the importance of the medical industry is more prominent than ever due to COVID-19. The era of ‘Precision Medicine’ has emerged, in which the information on patients’ genetics and living environment are collected and analyzed comprehensively to provide customized treatment optimized for the individuals.

Precision Medicine stands out as a crucial solution to cancer, which is the No. 1 cause of death in Korea. The field is also expected to make a significant contribution to unsolving the mysteries behind rare diseases still unveiled. Furthermore, it will be possible to predict possible diseases through genetic analysis for prevention as well as post-incident care.

Would we be able to draw a blueprint for the medical industry in the post- corona era, which is expected to be brought about through the rapid development of precision medicine and genetic research?

In Session 4, experts from various fields such as genetics and big data will gather to discuss the future of precision medicine and medicine itself that will turn the tides of medicine as a whole. 48 | Coronomics, Anchoring to a New World!

Bio-Medical, Dream of Prolongation of Life

The human race has taken a step forward to the ultimate goal of 'extending the human lifespan' with the development of medical technology. The average life expectancy of human has been steadily increasing, and medical technology has reached the level of preventing as well as treating diseases. In addition, automated machines inspect and diagnose patients, and robots now perform surgeries. However, various issues such as the conflicts between efficiency and safety are emerging since it is a field dealing with human life. In particular, many changes that recently occurred in the medical field due to the COVID-19 Pandemic have come to the fore. How do we fit into such a drastically changing situation? What other types of medical care should we be prepared for in the future? Session 5 examines the solutions to these problems, and suggests the direction of the global medical profession. 58 | Coronomics, Anchoring to a New World!
