2015 Players of the Week/Month Awards Daris Collects Weekly Honor

Player Award The South Atlantic League office has awarded OF Joseph RHP Matt Wisler IL Pitcher of the Week (5/4-10) Daris with its Player of the Week honors for the period of May 18-24, marking the first weekly honor of Daris’ career after being a 14th-round selection in the INF Ozhaino Albies SAL Player of the Week (5/4-10) 2014 June free agent draft. He joins INF Ozhaino Albies (5/4-10) as Player OF Joseph Daris SAL Player of the Week (5/18-24) of the Week honorees with Rome this season.

Daris, 23, hit .462 (12-for-26) during eight games over the course of the week, with one double, three triples and eight RBI, including a career-high four RBI on 5/23 vs. Savannah, when he went 2-for-3 with a walk and a bases-clearing triple. He stole two bases during the week and sits second on the club with eight steals on the season.
