A Message from the Governor

Remembering William Donald Schaefer

This week, we lost a legend, an indomitable statesman who loved his In This Issue city and his state with great exuberance because there was nothing more important to him than the people that he Governor Joins Prince served with such loyalty. His legacy lives not merely in the buildings that bear his name, nor the statue that bears his Crab Population likeness, but in the lives and hearts of all those fortunate enough to have known him and lucky enough to have been served by him. He was a man who grew impatient with Jobs Across Maryland slowness in government, but who always had time for the people he served. William Donald Schaefer’s life was spent in service to the communities he loved, and his unrelenting drive to ‘do it now’ was a constant pursuit of a better Maryland.
