1. Physical Road Constraints

The recent physical road constraint reports were presented using the Interactive Physical Road Constraints Map: • The main corridors from to Addis Ababa are open. • The road from Dewele to is in good condition. • In the Afar region, the main road to Asaita is accessible. The Gewane, Gewaro, and Awash Fentale roads are accessible until the woreda (district) capital, leaving some kebeles (wards) flooded by the . • The corridor from Berbera to /Ethiopia is accessible for all types of traffic movements and there are no issues on the border crossing at Togwajale. • The Mustahil bridge is now accessible for trucks.

2. Access constraints – presented by OCHA

• OCHA presented the latest Tigray access constraints. Please find full report in their latest situation update here.

3. Operation Update

• The Logistics Cluster submitted clearances on behalf of five partners to transport 40 mt of cargo to Mekele and 53 mt to Shire last week. • The first mobile storage unit (MSU) at the Hub warehouse has been set up. 320 m2 of storage space is now available for partners. The second MSU will be fully installed later this week. • Transport facilitation for partners to logistics hubs in and is ongoing. • Four trucks carrying 40 mt of cargo on behalf of six partners are stationed in Gondar, awaiting clearances for Shire. • In Gondar, the Logistics Cluster is facilitating the storage of approximately 50 mt of cargo on behalf of partners. • In Kombolcha, the Logistics Cluster is facilitating the storage of approximately 56 mt of cargo on behalf of partners. • Clearances for cargo movements to Tigray is underway and will be received this week. The Logistics Cluster will be facilitating access to transport to final destinations in Tigray as requested by partners. • The Logistics Cluster can facilitate access to 80 mt of truck capacity for partners’ cargo destined to Mekele from Semera and Kombolcha. Partners requesting to move cargo to Mekele are asked to submit SRFs by Friday COB. As a reminder, below are the storage and transportation services that can be facilitated by the Logistics Cluster for the Tigray response:

• There is 3900 m2 of warehouse space available in as common storage for partners, and 2400 m2 in Gondar. The Logistics Cluster is also facilitating access to a warehouse with 1000 m2 storage capacity in Kombolcha. Currently, 700 m2 is available for partners. • The warehouse in Addis Ababa (1000 m2) currently has 250 m2 available. This warehouse is used for the consolidation of cargo that is to be dispatched to Gondar, Kombolcha, and Semera. • Partners requesting storage services are invited to fill in the Service Request Form (SRF) and send it to [email protected].

4. NDRMC updates

• NDRMC confirmed receipt of cargo movement requests from the Logistics Cluster. This includes seven trucks to Shire, seven trucks to Mekele, and one truck to refugee camps Adi Harush and Mai Ayni.

• As per the mandate of the Logistics Cluster and as agreed by the Humanitarian Country Team to coordinate and ensure there is no duplication of efforts, NDRMC urged partners to submit their cargo movement requests through the Logistics Cluster. • Partners requesting movement into Tigray, whether requiring storage and transportation assistance from the cluster or moving independently, must submit their plans to the Logistics Cluster. After consolidating these plans, the Logistics Cluster will submit them directly to NDRMC once a week. • Partners are requested to share their cargo movement plans and requests to the Logistics Cluster every Friday COB via [email protected].

5. FAQs and Partner Discussion

• It is possible for partners to deliver cargo via air transport, however, it is still required to obtain cargo movement clearance for any cargo entering Tigray, whether through land or air transport. Partners are encouraged to submit their cargo movement clearance requests through the Logistics Cluster. • Tuesday 19 January is a national holiday in Ethiopia, so the next meeting will take place on Wednesday 20 January.
