for PhD thesis of Kurmet Serikovich Baibussenov on theme "Nongregarious locusts of Northern : distribution, ecology, system of forecasting" for the degree of PhD on a specialty 6D081100 - Plant protection and quarantine

Relevance of research topic. The economic development of any country, one of the most important areas is the provision of food security. Today, locusts are still the polyphagous pests of agricultural land worldwide. They can destroy everything crops and land, moreover, migrating long distances. Behind these pests requires constant phytosanitary control. Fighting with harmful locust has been going on quite a few decades. The harmful nongregarious locusts complex poses a significant threat to agro- industrial complex of the republic, especially in Northern Kazakhstan as a destabilizing factor in the production of pasture plants and crops. In the steppe cenoses numerous and widespread - Dociostaurus brevicollis (EV.), Dociostaurus kraussi kraussi (INGEN.), Stauroderus scalaris (F.-W.), Aeropus sibiricus sibiricus (L.), Pararcyptera microptera microptera (F.-W.), Chorthippus albomarginatus albomarginatus (DEG.), Euchorthippus pulvinatus (F-W.). The territory of Northern Kazakhstan is the optimal environment for habitat development and reproduction nongregarious species of locusts. In this the previously studied mainly harmful herd locust (Kambulin, 2000; Azhbenov, 2001; Khasenov, 2001; Childibaev, 2002, 2004, etc.). Also, works were performed to determine the faunal and biological features nongregarious locusts and protective measures against them (Kompaneva 1986; Kamissarova, 2002; Akmollaeva, 2004 and others.). System analysis found that at present is not sufficient to examine the issues of phytosanitary monitoring and forecasting of development and numbers of the harmful nongregarious locusts complex. Poor investigated seasonal and perennial questions of population dynamics of populations, phytosanitary zoning, phenological prediction and forecasting of harmful nongregarious locusts to justify protective measures. These issues are highly relevant, and our work is aimed at studying them to develop phytosanitary preventive measures to limit the number of these herbivores, forecasting the development and distribution of major species and the current planning of plant protection products. The purpose of research - the identification biological and ecological features of seasonal and long-term population dynamics of harmful nongregarious locusts, phytosanitary zoning of Northern Kazakhstan to develop ways for predicting their numbers, development and justification protective measures. To achieve this purpose in the study the following tasks: - the study of biological and ecological features of the seasonal population dynamics of harmful nongregarious locusts complex; - to determine their prevalence and severity at the main stages of their habitat; - phytosanitary zoning of Northern Kazakhstan for the distribution of harmful nongregarious locusts; - identification regularities and factors of long-term dynamics of their population; - development of long-term forecasting of harmful nongregarious locusts to plan volumes of protective measures; - development of phenological forecasting of harmful nongregarious locusts to signal the timing of protective measures. Scientific novelty of research. As a result of research established for the first time: - the phytosanitary situation in Kazakhstan on harmful nongregarious locusts, which targets the northern of the country occupied by a high degree of phytophages population; - ecological features, regularities and determinants of harmful nongregarious locusts population dynamics in Northern Kazakhstan. On the basis of the established laws for the first time developed and theoretically justified: - phytosanitary zoning of Northern Kazakhstan to distribution harmful nongregarious locusts complex that revealed areas of high, medium, small populations of these pests indicators; - long-term forecasting predictors of harmful nongregarious locusts population dynamics of Northern Kazakhstan with a view to early detection of rise or fall herbivores population for planning the volumes of protective measures; - phenological forecasting of harmful nongregarious locusts to signal the timing of protective measures and best management solutions of phytosanitary situation. Communication dissertation topic with the state research programs. Methodical approaches to the methods of pest monitoring and forecasting of harmful nongregarious locusts were carried out in the framework of the state program of the state budget 055 MES of RK 2012-2014 on the theme "Innovation of pest monitoring and forecasting of especially dangerous pests (Apamea anceps Schifff., Mayetiola destructor Say.) crops of Northern Kazakhstan on the basis of geo-information and GLONAS/GPS-based technologies for the production of grain and food security", supervisor - Sc.D., professor V.K. Azhbenov, registration number of RSTA results (results of scientific and technical activities) - 14K0194, registration date of RSTA results in the National Center of STI of RK - 07.11.2014. In addition, under the state program 019 of Ministry of Agriculture in 2013 under the Programme for the implementation and dissemination of innovative projects in the field of agribusiness Treaty №2 from 04.24.2013, the "Innovation of the global satellite navigation GPS- technology in phytosanitary monitoring dangerous Italian locusts for accurate identification of lesions in order to enhance the effectiveness of chemical treatments and planning volume of protective measures for the next year as an example of region" were also held accounting and monitoring of harmful nongregarious locusts, since some farmland, they met in the community with the Italian locust, and the practice it has been applied to our target. Project Supervisor - Sc.D., professor V.K. Azhbenov. Theoretical and practical significance. The results obtained are a definite contribution to the theory of distribution and population ecology of harmful nongregarious locusts. The results of research and scientific development can be seen as a new approach in the development and improvement of pest forecasting theory of locust pests. The practical value of the results of research is the use of the identified predictors and develop predictive models of harmful nongregarious locusts phytosanitary monitoring to signal the timing of protective measures to prevent post- harvest losses of agricultural land from nongregarious locusts optimization phytosanitary condition of crops by improving the effectiveness of protective measures and to reduce the pesticide load on agrocenosis and the environment.
