Hybrizon buccatus (de Brebisson, 1825) is newly recorded from Iran, as the first member of the subfamily Hybrizontinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae). This species has been collected from different locations in Northern Iran. Diagnostic characters and geographical distribution of the species are briefly discussed. Key words: Hybrizon buccatus, Hybrizontinae, new record, Iran. The taxonomic status of the small subfamily Hybrizontinae Eshmankamachal- Guilan province (N: 37°21’175”, E: Achterberg, 1976 had been the matter of several debates for a 49°57’936”, 2m asl), 1♀ 19.VII.2010, 1♀ 16.VIII.2010, 1♀ long time (van Achterberg 1999). Some authors treated this group either as family Paxylommatidae (Mason 1981, Tobias 1988) or as subfamily Paxilommatinae of the family Ichneu- monidae (Perrichot et al. 2009). Journal of Hymenoptera Research 30: 65–74. doi: 10.3897/JHR.30.3182 Abstract The species of the genus Hybrizon Fallén (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Hybrizoninae) from China are reviewed, with special reference to Hunan (South China). The genus Hybrizon and two species (H. flavofacialisTobias, 1988, and H. ghilarovi Tobias, 1988) are reported for the first time from the Oriental region. The species known from the Palaearctic and Oriental regions are keyed. Keywords Ichneumonidae, Hybrizon flavofacialis, Hybrizon ghilarovi, Lasius fuyi, Oriental, China, Hunan, koinobiont endoparasitoids, ant larvae, key Introduction The small subfamily Hybrizoninae Blanchard, 1845 (= Paxylommatinae Foerster, 1862, Hybrizontinae of authors, “Hybrizonites” of Blanchard, 1845; Wharton and van Achterberg 2000) is associated with ants and most likely belongs to the family Ichneumonidae, but was often associated with Braconidae (van Achterberg 1976) or considered to be a separate family (He 1981, Tobias 1988). The group is treated as a subfamily of the family Ichneumonidae Latreille, 1802, by Rasnitsyn (1980) Copyright Cornelis van Achterberg et al.

Calohelcon obscuripennis Turner is redescribed and illustrated for the first time. Calohelcon roddi n.sp. from New South Wales is described, illustrated and differentiated from C. obscuripennis. The hindwing of C. roddi possesses a distinct transverse vein m-cu, a feature unknown in any other Helconinae but present in many members of the 'cyclostome' subfamilies Doryctinae and Rogadinae, and in the apparently related Alysiinae, Betylobraconinae, Gnamptodontinae, Histeromerinae, Opiinae and Telengaiinae. The presence of hindwing vein m cu is interpreted as a plesiomorphous character state in the 'cyclostome' assemblage, but it is suggested that the presence of m-cu in some Calohelcon, represents a re-expression of genetic information, the expression of which had been previously suppressed.

Parachremylus trachysi sp. nov., is reared from larvae of the leaf miner Trachys sp. (Coleoptera, Buprestidae) on Corchorus sp. (Wild Jute Plant). A new species of Pambolus Haliday along with two known species is also recorded.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS ______________________________________________________________ Poster Presentations 423 IMPROVEMENT OF RELEASE METHOD FOR APHIDOLETES APHIDIMYZA (DIPTERA: CECIDOMYIIDAE) BASED ON ECOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIORAL STUDIES Junichiro Abe and Junichi Yukawa Entomological Laboratory, Kyushu University, Japan ABSTRACT. In many countries, Aphidoletes aphidimyza (Rondani) has been used effectively as a biological control agent against aphids, particularly in greenhouses. In Japan, A. aphidimyza was reg- istered as a biological control agent in April 1999, and mass-produced cocoons have been imported from The Netherlands and United Kingdom since mass-rearing methods have not yet been estab- lished. In recent years, the effect of imported A. aphidimyza on aphid populations was evaluated in greenhouses at some Agricultural Experiment Stations in Japan. However, no striking effect has been reported yet from Japan. The failure of its use in Japan seems to be caused chiefly by the lack of detailed ecological or behavioral information of A. aphidimyza. Therefore, we investigated its ecological and behavioral attributes as follows: (1) the survival of pupae in relation to the depth of pupation sites; (2) the time of adult emergence in response to photoperiod during the pupal stage; (3) the importance of a hanging substrate for successful mating; and (4) the influence of adult size and nutrient status on adult longev- ity and fecundity. (1) A commercial natural enemy importer in Japan suggests that users divide cocoons into groups and put each group into a plastic container filled with vermiculite to a depth of 100 mm. However, we believe this is too deep for A. aphidimyza pupae, since under natural conditions mature larvae spin their cocoons in the top few millimeters to a maxmum depth of 30 mm.

Homolobus. INTRODUCTION The subfamily Homolobinae includes three genera and 62 described species worldwide (Yu et al., 2012). Members of the Homolobinae are large size and have an "ophionoid facies". The genus Homolobus Förster, 1862 is the largest genera of the subfamily with about 55 known species in the world and 20 species of it are known in the Palaearctic region (Yu et al., 2012). Members of Homolobus are solitary koinobiont endoparasitoids of Lepidopteran larvae (Shaw & Huddleston, 1991; Kenis et al., 2005), but has a final ectoparasitic phase (Allen, 1982).
