Norwegians have shown their love for a wine from California. In 2018, the American wine Falling Feather was the most popular product at Vinmonopolet. The Swedes also have their eyes on the American wine-success: From December Falling Feather has been on sale in all of Sweden's shops.

Arcus' wine expert Janne Holm is not at all surprised that this wine in particular has become so popular.

- Falling Feather is soft and sweet. It is characterised by dark and red berries, and goes very well with food eat a lot of, such as pasta and pizza. The style of wine means that it can be easily enjoyed without food, and it is also low in tannins and histamine, which many people find important, says Holm.

In 2018, Vinmonopolet sold over 1.4 million litres of Falling Feather. That is an increase of 6.9 percent from the previous year.

-The bag-in-box is especially popular. It is easy to take along when you’re on the move, it keeps for at least six weeks after opening, and is also environmentally friendly, says Holm.

Falling Feather is transported in large containers on ships from the USA, then bottled at Arcus in Gjelleråsen. This saves the environment from CO2-emissions as it avoids the transportation of ready bottled wine with heavy packaging.
