02:00 PM Departure from Vienna, by bus to the Lake Millstatt, check-in
06:30 PM Visit of the Kärnten Badehaus Millstätter See, afterwards presentation of the Alpe Adria Radweg

09:00 AM Check-out and transfer to Spittal an der Drau
09:30 AM Start cycling on the Alpe Adria Radweg to Weißenstein (ca. 20 km, 1,5 h, get the rental bikes)
The path follows in this part the river Drava. In this section Alpe Adria Radweg and Drauradweg (long distance cycle route from the Dolomites to Croatia certificated by ADFC with 5 stars) are going the same way. The path is flat and directly on the river. We will pass a ferry which was very important in ancient time for connecting the both banks of the river. The ferry had been reinstalled within a former project.
11:00 AM After a drink we will go by bus to Villach, the cyclist city of Carinthia. Visit of Radbutler and lunch.
Villach is Carinthias second biggest city with a Mediterranean charm and connects different international and regional cycle paths. For cyclists the Tourism board installed the Radbutler. This is a place where bikes could be stored during a city trip. They also do some small services there and provide information.
01:00 PM Transfer by bus to Pontebba/Italy
After lunch we leave Austria and meet Italy in Tarvis/Tarvisio a small town nearby the border famous for winter sport and a huge market with clothes. From this point the Alpe Adria Radweg is steadily decreasing down to the Sea.
02:00 PM Cycle tour on Alpe Adria Radweg from Pontebba to Stazione Chiusaforte (ca. 20 km, 1,5 h) and get-together with Tourist Board of Friuli region (drinks, finger food)
This part of the cycle path has been constructed completely new on the old track of the railway. It is very spectacular with tunnels, galleries and bridges with great panoramic views pn the valley. At the end of the tour we will rest at Stazione Chiusaforte. It is an original train station, now restaurant and accommodation for cyclists.
04:00 PM Transport back to Carinthia
