San Rocco is a sustainable quarter in term of: mobility: the quarter is planned in order to guarantee accessibility to public and private spaces without architectonic obstacles. Pedestrians paths for inner mobility and for the connection with Faenza centre and with Canale Naviglio public linear park are realized.

These are bicycle and pedestrian paths and they are distinguished, separated and protected from vehicle paths. They have protected crosswalks. A great pedestrian court has been planned, with no cars. In this court there are a lot of green belt typologies and paved paths converging on three small places with artistic installations architectonic and urban planning: various building typology have been used in order to avoid the loss of identity generated by a quarter that proposes buildings blocks with a rigid and repeated system. The building blocks are connected by public pedestrian spaces. These spaces wind inside the built area water rational management: meteoric waters are stored in cisterns inside private sites and they are recycled for irrigation. Rain-waters are collected in tanks placed in the green belt. In case of exceptional atmospheric events the tanks gradually realise water in a draining system. energy: there are technological systems (district heating system with gas methane) and measures for energetic saving (mq. 2000 of solar photovoltaic on the roofs) in order to reduce energy consumption in the buildings. There are photovoltaic structures for the feeding of the public lighting quarter system, in the pedestrian court. acoustic protection: The residential quarter is protect from the noises.
