LOS ANGELES RAMS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR ANNUAL COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Organizations May Submit Project Proposals at therams.com/community until March 2

Non-profit organizations and schools located in the greater Los Angeles region may now apply for the 2018 Rams Annual Community Project. The initiative aims to bring people together and leave a tangible and lasting impact while addressing some of the community’s greatest needs. Organizations who are interested can apply online at therams.com/community through March 2, 2018. Applications received after that date will not be eligible for the project, which is currently scheduled for June of 2018. The Rams will fund and participate in the implementation of the project. The team has offered the Community Improvement Project to local organizations, schools, or other institutions since 2009. Last year, the Rams funded a playground and beautification project for Los Angeles Unified School District’s Figueroa Street Elementary School, located in Watts, CA. Rams players, Head Coach SEAN McVAY, LES SNEAD, COO KEVIN DEMOFF, cheerleaders and the entire front office staff were onsite to build the playground with the help and supervision of Playcraft Systems and Pacific Play Systems, the designer of the playground. The team also added a few additional touches including murals featuring Rams players paired with specific character traits. The Rams rookies also painted their college logos around campus to give the Figueroa Street students some academic inspiration. A video capturing last year’s project can be found here. In June of 2016, the Rams completed their first Community Improvement Project in Los Angeles by funding and building a new playground for Woodworth Elementary in Inglewood, CA. ABOUT THE COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT Since 2009, the Rams have hosted a monthly Staff Day of Service, where the front office staff volunteers with local non-profit organizations to create a positive impact in the local community. The Rams Community Improvement Project is the cornerstone volunteer effort of this initiative. Since returning home to Los Angeles, Rams staff members have provided more than 3,000 hours of community service and impacted 17 non-profits and 40 schools through the Day of Service program.
