Requirements for Screen Reading Technology

To use the accessibility features provided, you must satisfy these general requirements in addition to any component - specific requirements in individual chapters:

1. Ensure that you have the Service Administrator role assigned to your user account. 2. Enable screen reading software on Microsoft Chromium Edge. If you change the Enable Screen Reader Support preference setting during a session, restart your browser. You may also have to log off, and then log back in. Using Keyboard Equivalents

When you use keyboard equivalents, note that: • The underlined letter that typically appears in a menu title, menu item, or button text is called a mnemonic. Because Oracle considers mnemonics to be self-documenting, additional documentation for mnemonics is not necessarily provided. You can use mnemonics where they are implemented. • Some mnemonics are repeated. For example, on the File menu, the underlined mnemonic D is used for both the Delete and the Deactivate menu items. When mnemonics are repeated, the first time you press D, the item to be deleted is highlighted. Press Enter to Delete or press D again to highlight the Deactivate button, and then press Enter to Deactivate. • Keystrokes listed are standard for PCs. iOS standard keys may be different. • If you use a release later than Firefox 1.5, use Alt+Shift for Alt as the modifier.

1-1 Chapter 1 Redwood Theme

Redwood Theme

When you have applied the Redwood theme, certain keystrokes work differently • Some of the form Actions menu options, those which are cell-level actions, have been moved to the cell context menu (speed menu). • The cell context menus can be displayed using the Shift+F10 keystroke.

On the Home Page, click the Accessibility Settings button at the top right corner of the page to enable accessibility features. In the Accessibility Settings dialog box, you can select Screen Reader Mode and High Contrast. Recommended Contrast Settings

For best contrast, Oracle recommends customizing your display to set the Appearance theme to Sky Blue. Click Tools, and then click Appearance. For Theme, select Sky Blue. Accessibility Features

These features are provided: • Support for screen readers and magnifiers • Keyboard navigation equivalents for all objects • Alt+Z to skip navigation links and read the main content area. Note that Alt+Z does not work in the simplified interface. Ctrl+F6 does not read this area. • Alt and Title attributes for all objects, images, and page titles • Support for expanding and collapsing trees using the and keyboard equivalents • Data form access using keyboard equivalents • Tab indexing, implemented from left to right on all pages • In the simplified interface, you can click a button at the top right corner of the page that opens a dialog box with options for accessibility and color contrast

2-1 Chapter 2 Using Screen Reader Mode

Note:

To read elements that are read only and do not get focus using keyboard navigation, use the to read text. This applies, for example, to task list status in the simplified Interface.

Note:

When moving to the Approvals subcomponent from another subcomponent, such as Revenue, a Filter popup may display. This feature allows you to submit, review, approve, or reject a planning unit. When the user comes to this feature, planning units are listed for the scenario and version that were most recently used (MRU) by them while entering data into forms. If no scenario and version were most recently used, a Filter popup displays that allows users to select the scenario and the version. The user can select the scenario and version member for which they want to see planning units.

Using Screen Reader Mode

• When working with forms to enter data, disable Hide Selection. To select any shortcut menu option, you must first select the Show Selection checkbox and then the appropriate item or business artifact in order to be able to select the right context. • In rule launch windows, select the corresponding buttons to invoke the member selector for runtime prompts. • If, after you perform validations, cells contain errors, you must tab through each cell to locate those with errors. Clicking error messages in the Data Validation Summary does not place focus on the corresponding cell with errors. • If you launch a secondary dialog box such as the member selector while in screen reader mode, in the simplified interface you must exit the dialog box by pressing the or other control button. In the standard UI, press Alt+Z to switch focus from the main dialog box to the secondary dialog box. You can then tab to navigate the dialog box. • Use buttons, radio buttons, and check boxes for selection. • For information icons, click icons for additional information. • Popups appear in a new page. When a popup such as a confirmation message appears on save or rule launch, use the Down Arrow keys to read the message after the screen reader announces the popup. Use the same process for informational popups. • Graphs and charts do not display; everything is rendered in table format. Use Ctrl+ and Alt+ arrow keys to read the content of such tables. • Turn the PC Mode to ON when tabbing through read-only fields in a table. Turn the PC Cursor Mode to OFF when entering data in editable fields.

2-2 Chapter 2 Working with the Dashboard in Accessibility Mode

• Use the Ctrl+ and Alt+ arrow keys to read the contents of both read-only and editable tables, such as user variables, across all applications. • In the simplified interface, when creating dashboards in screen reader mode, the links displayed in the left pane are not available for creating content in widgets. Instead, you can use the Chart, URL, and Commentary links within the widget to create content. • To read the content of a text area, select all text inside the text area by pressing Ctrl+A. • When the screen reader is on, to close any open dialog boxes, press Escape twice. • To exit a popup when the screen reader is on, press the Escape key. To exit informational messages when the screen reader is on, press Tab.

Note:

In the left pane tree table, select the radio button adjacent to the items that are to be invoked, such as forms.

Accessibility is the extent to which products, systems, and so on can be used by people with a wide range of disabilities. Specifically, accessibility is the ability of products to support the needs of users with visual impairments—including blindness, partial sight (low vision), and color blindness—and motor impairments that prevent them from using a mouse or a standard keyboard. Predictive Planning supports accessibility at all times through keyboard shortcuts and other means. Users who require additional support can activate Accessibility mode with the following features: • Series or other distinctions in charts have different patterns, not just different colors. • Accessible text is provided in blank charts to indicate whether data is available or why it is not. • Microsoft Excel charts are included in reports by default and values of the chart series are written out to the report spreadsheet. To activate Accessibility mode in Predictive Planning in Oracle Smart View for Office:

1. Select Options in the Predictive Planning ribbon. 2. Select Enable accessibility options. 3. Click OK.

Note:

To deactivate Accessibility mode in Predictive Planning in Smart View, clear the Enable accessibility options selection in the Options dialog.

Predictive Planning in Smart View Accessibility Features

This section describes specific accessibility features in Predictive Planning for Oracle Smart View for Office that may differ from other Planning features.

6-1 Chapter 6 Keyboard Equivalents for the Predict Ribbon

Using the Tab and Arrow Keys in the Predictive Planning User Interface

The main Predictive Planning options are accessed with keyboard equivalents. After a menu is open, the Tab key or Down Arrow key highlights commands in a circular sequence (tabbing from the last item moves focus to the first item). Using Shift+Tab or the Up Arrow highlights commands in the opposite direction. Tab Order in Dialogs

Default tab order in the Predictive Planning dialogs flows from left to right, top to bottom. Tab can be used to access the first cell of a table or subwindow of a dialog, but then arrow keys are needed to move to additional cells or items in the subwindow. Keyboard Equivalents for the Predict Ribbon

In Oracle Smart View for Office and Planning, use Alt+y, p to display the Predict ribbon. Then, use Alt+b to select the ribbon. With the Predict ribbon selected, use the keys in Table 1 to select ribbon icons.

Note:

For other keyboard equivalents used by Predictive Planning, see Predictive Planning in Smart View Keyboard Equivalents for Dialog Boxes.

Note:

Oracle tries to avoid keyboard equivalent conflicts; if a key combination is the same as one on a Microsoft Excel menu, you can use the Down Arrow key to access the command you want. Commands are listed in the same order in which they are displayed onscreen.

About Smart View Accessibility

This chapter describes the accessibility features of Oracle Smart View for Office.

Note:

• Keyboard equivalents for provider ribbons may vary if other Office add-ins or extensions are installed. For example, the keyboard equivalent Y may become Y1 or Y2 if there are ribbons created by add-ins in addition to Smart View. • Keyboard equivalents for languages other than English may be different from those listed in the chapters in this guide.

Enabling Accessibility for Smart View

After reviewing this chapter, you are familiar working with JAWS® for Oracle Smart View for Office . Related Links: About Enabling Accessibility for Smart View Working with JAWS Enabling JAWS to Read ListView Headers

About Enabling Accessibility for Smart View You do not need to enable accessibility specifically for Smart View; it is always in accessible mode. Smart View output is in the form of Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and

7-1 Chapter 7 Smart View for Office 2010 Ribbon Keyboard Equivalents

PowerPoint slides, which are accessible through Microsoft Office. For information about Excel, Word, or PowerPoint accessibility, refer to Microsoft Office product documentation.

Working with JAWS If you are using JAWS® Screen Reading Software: • Oracle recommends using the Microsoft Edge Chromium browser. • You must enable JAWS to read ListView headers, as described in Enabling JAWS to Read ListView Headers.

Enabling JAWS to Read ListView Headers ListViews display information in a table format within the Smart View user interface. Examples of dialog boxes that display information in the ListView format are Select Forms or Manage Journals. ListView headers are the column headings within a ListView. By default, JAWS does not read the ListView headers; however, you can enable JAWS to read them. To enable JAWS to read ListView headers:

1. Ensure that JAWS is running. 2. Within a ListView, select a row containing data, then press Insert+F2. 3. In the Run JAWS Manager dialog box, select Customize ListView and press Enter. The Customize Headers dialog box is displayed 4. In the Column Headers group, select the Speak Custom Text AND Header option. 5. Click OK to save the changes. JAWS should begin speaking the column headers in the ListView element. If this doesn't happen, restart the Office application. Smart View for Office 2010 Ribbon Keyboard Equivalents
