Josh Groban Releases Live Cd/Dvd Package Entitled Josh Groban Bridges Live: Madison Square Garden GLOBAL SUPERSTAR JOSH GROBAN RELEASES LIVE CD/DVD PACKAGE ENTITLED JOSH GROBAN BRIDGES LIVE: MADISON SQUARE GARDEN AVAILABLE APRIL 19, 2019 March 8, 2019 (Los Angeles, CA) - Multi-platinum award-winning singer, songwriter and global superstar Josh Groban announced today that he will release a CD/DVD package entitled, Josh Groban Bridges Live: Madison Square Garden, on April 19th, 2019, via Reprise Records available for pre- order HERE. Relive all of the exciting, tear-jerking and even comedic moments from the show, shot by famed director Joe Thomas and recorded live from the final US stop of his sold-out 2018Bridges Tour at the iconic Madison Square Garden. The show includes a mixture of new songs and classic hits as well as duets with Tony-Award winning, multi-platinum recording artist Idina Menzel along with a special appearance by Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles. The live set features Josh’s band accompanied by a choir and orchestra and kicks off with “Bigger Than Us” from his newest studio album Bridges. Followed by the 2008 hit “You Are Loved (Don’t Give Up)” and another new track, “Won’t Look Back,” Josh performs an electrifying mix of beloved classics, new songs, and special covers, including the standard “Pure Imagination,” Billy Joel’s “She’s Always A Woman,” and “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables. Idina Menzel joins Groban for two captivating duets, including the angelic "Lullaby” and the emotionally-charged "Falling Slowly" from the movie Once. At this performance, Groban was also joined on stage by songstress Jennifer Nettles for a remarkable duet of "99 Years" before he closed his set with a stunning rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s "Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The accompanying live CD will feature fan favorites from the DVD and will also include a special, brand new bonus track, “She Moved Through the Fair,” recorded live from Dublin on the Bridges world tour.     Classic Poetry Series Pablo Neruda - poems - Publication Date: 2011 Publisher: Poemhunter.com - The World's Poetry Archive Pablo Neruda(12 July 1904 – 23 September 1973) Pablo Neruda was the pen name and, later, legal name of the Chilean poet and politician Neftalí Ricardo Reyes Basoalto. He chose his pen name after Czech poet Jan Neruda. Neruda wrote in a variety of styles such as erotically charged love poems as in his collection Twenty Poems of Love and a Song of Despair, surrealist poems, historical epics, and overtly political manifestos. In 1971 Neruda won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Colombian novelist Gabriel García Márquez once called him "the greatest poet of the 20th century in any language." Neruda always wrote in green ink as it was his personal color of hope. On July 15, 1945, at Pacaembu Stadium in São Paulo, Brazil, he read to 100,000 people in honor of Communist revolutionary leader Luís Carlos Prestes. During his lifetime, Neruda occupied many diplomatic positions and served a stint as a senator for the Chilean Communist Party. When Conservative Chilean President González Videla outlawed communism in Chile in 1948, a warrant was issued for Neruda's arrest. Friends hid him for months in a house basement in the Chilean port of Valparaíso. Later, Neruda escaped into exile through a mountain pass near Maihue Lake into Argentina. Years later, Neruda was a close collaborator to socialist President Salvador Allende. When Neruda returned to Chile after his Nobel Prize acceptance speech, Allende invited him to read at the Estadio Nacional before 70,000 people.

    A SPACE FOR CONNECTION: A PHENOMENOLOGICAL INQUIRY ON MUSIC LISTENING AS LEISURE by JOSEPH ALFRED PATE IV (Under the Direction of Corey W. Johnson) ABSTRACT This polyvocal text leveraged Post-Intentional Phenomenology (Vagle, 2010) to trouble, open up, and complexify understanding of the lived leisure experience (Parry & Johnson, 2006) of connection with and through music listening. Music listening was foregrounded as one horizon within the aural soundscape that affords deeply meaningful and significant experiences for many. Past scholarship within the Leisure Studies literature has primarily attended to the impact and relevancy of music in the lives of adolescents. This study focused on engagement with music of five adults, accessing phenomenology as both a philosophical and methodological lens to look along (Lewis, 1990) this lived-experience. Using multiple voices and styles of representation, this polyvocal work challenged traditional ways of knowing by inviting listening, music, and voice to serve as additional data embedded throughout its discursive representation. Accessing Bachelard‟s (1990) phenomenology of the resonation-reverberation doublet revealed five partial, fleeting, and tentative manifestations (Vagle, 2010) of this lived leisure experience, which included: Getting Lost: Felt Resonation and Embodiment; I‟m Open: Openness, Receptivity, and Enchantment; Serendipitous Moments; The Found Mirror: Oh There You Are; and Cairns and Echoes: The Lustering Potency of Song. Ultimately, music appeared to speak to so as to speak for participants, providing musical affirmation and sustenance throughout their lives.
