Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations – an introduction

The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, founded by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the year 1965, is a service organisation with a spiritual core and base to benefit all mankind irrespective of religion, caste, creed or sect. The Organisation serves as a platform for its members to undertake service and other activities motivated by an urge for one's own transformation with the aim of realizing one's inherent divinity. Without any distinction of religion, nationality, race, socio- economic status, either for those who work in the Organisation or for those who are served by it, the Organisation transcends all barriers leading humanity towards the ideal of 'Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of Man'. The concept of fees or membership subscription is alien to the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, for there cannot be any fee or subscription for one's journey towards his own self. The organisation functions through its primary units called as Samithis and Bhajan Mandalis of which individuals - from different strata of society, different ethnic groups pursuing different religions and faiths -are members bound by the dictum of Love all, Serve All and pursue their own sadhana towards self-transformation following the path of selfless service to humanity. At no point is an individual asked to follow a certain religion or rituals. On the contrary each is inspired to follow his own faith so as to ensure that a Hindu becomes a better Hindu, a Muslim becomes a better Muslim, a Christian becomes a better Christian and so on. In fact, this spiritual basis inspires everyone to pursue his own religion better by putting into practice Love and Selflessness. That is why the Organisation features in its emblem the symbols of the major religions of the world.

“The Organisations named after Me are not to be used for publicizing My Name, or creating a new cult around My worship…. They must render seva (service) to the helpless, the sick, the distressed, the illiterate and the needy. Their seva (selfless service) should not be exhibitionistic; it must seek no reward, not even gratitude or thanks from the recipients. Seva is sadhana (spiritual exercise), not a pastime of the rich and well placed. You must have the firm belief that the aim of this Organisation is to remove the obstacles that keep man away from God, that

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Mumbai Metro Region

BRIEF HISTORY ‘Dharmakshetra’, a Divine Lotus emerged from the uneven, hilly and slum area is a manifestation of Divine Sankalp and Love of His Holiness Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who laid its foundation on 3 November 1967 in the City of Mumbai and declared that it would be ready on 12 May 1968. Dharmakshetra symbolises the core message of Bhagawan to Mankind, “to embark upon Dharma, experience Prashanthi and regale in Paramanand”. Dharmakshetra signifies the mystical journey from ‘I to We’, from ‘We to He’, under His Supreme Guidance. This journey is from ‘Without to Within’, from ‘Untruth to Truth’, from ‘Kurukshetra-the battlefield of Sensual pleasures to Dharmakshetra-the Realm of Righteousness”.

Human Body is Dharmakshetra To annihilate the evil effects of Adharma The Divine Energy mercifully takes Janma Propagating & Fostering the Sanctity of Karma Which should be directed on the Path of Dharma With Continuous Springs of Divine Love i.e. Prema Janma, Karma, Dharma and Prema are in Dharmakshetra For human body is Kshetra wherein we must plant Dharma So that man can attain Moksha, the fruit of Mama* *(Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta starts from the word ‘Dharma’ and ends with the word ‘Mama’)

Mobile Medical vans have been acquired with in-built testing equipment and were pressed into action after a formal inauguration by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Hospitals & Clinics play a useful role but a vast number of diseases can be nipped in the bud by providing timely treatment and thus avoiding complicated treatment at a later stage.

The Mobile Dispensary is the “MOST VIABLE ALTERNATIVE” in terms of cost, time and manpower resources.

Joint purchase of medicines and tie-ups has been done to manufacture exclusive range of medicines. “Americare India” is supporting this project with the free supply of medicines to a limited extent.

BRIEF HISTORY Palghar District of SSSSO is closer to Mumbai and it has many villages where we can experience pure love of nature. Palghar district of SSSSO comprises of 4 Samithis i.e. Vasai, Boisar, Khardi-, and Mira Road, was formerly part of Thane District. The SSSSO Palghar District came into existence on 18th December, 2016 for smooth functioning, easy participation in programs and for conducting samithies meeting. Samithi Brief of Palghar District of SSSSO is as follow :- 1) VASAI SAMITHI :- Vasai Samithi was the first samithi of Palghar district which was formed in the present of District President of Thane in year 1990. Almost 3 decades back, few devotees of Bhagawan migrated to Vasai from different parts of the country. They started visiting devotee’s home and conducted bhajans to spread the love of Bhagwan. At present, Vasai Samithi have approx. 50 devotees and actively participated in all Spiritual, Educational and Service wing activities. 2) BOISAR SAMITHI :- Boisar Samithi was formerly inaugurated by Shri G.V. Rao, the then State Co-Ordinator from Thane District and got affiliated to Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation on Sunday, the 13th November, 1994. Before formation of Boisar Samithi, some of the devotees of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba had formed a Bhajan Mandali and were regularly conducting Bhajans, Balvikas and Seva activities in TAPS and BARC colony of Boisar. This Bhajan Mandli later on became a samithi where in devotees actively participate in all 3 wings i.e. Spiritual, Educational and Service. The Balvikas and Gram Seva activities conducted by Devotees of Boisar Samithi’s in village called Makadchola which included free coaching classes for needy students.
