State of Qatar Schedule A: Project Brief Ashghal Part STATE OF QATAR SCHEDULE A: PROJECT BRIEF ASHGHAL PART 1: SCOPE OF WORKS 1.3 The Contract 1.3.1 This Schedule A [Project Brief] sets out the Scope of Supplies of the Contractor in relation to the Project. 1.3.2 The Contract shall be administered under the terms and conditions of the Building & Engineering Works General Conditions of Contract for Major Works (Technical Specification) 2014 Edition, including all amendments incorporated into the Particular Conditions. 2 THE PROJECT 2.1 Project Outline 2.1.1 The project, DW083 – Muaither, Al Mearad and Rawdat Abal Heeran is one of the GAP projects which aim is to provide positive outfalls to drainage networks and TSE supply to current projects under construction (DW002 P01 – DW013 P1/P2 – DW015 P1/P2) as well as 1A priority project (DW044). Figure 2.1 The Project DW083 Location Plan DW083 project is located within Zones 54 and 55 in the existing and future sub- catchment of the Muaither and Al Wajba areas on the western periphery of Doha. The scope of work for DW083 is a single discipline project, TSE which comprises 3 sections: Section 5A, Section 5B and Section 5C. Project ID: IA 2017 C 024 I Schedule A: Part 1: Page 2 August 2017 DW083 - Muaither, Al Mearad and Rawdat Abal Heeran TSE Revision 0 STATE OF QATAR SCHEDULE A: PROJECT BRIEF ASHGHAL PART 1: SCOPE OF WORKS 2.2 Project Objectives 2.2.1 The main drivers for this is to provide TSE supply to PWA priority projects (DW002 P1, DW015 P1/P2 and DW044). 2.2.2 To provide a strategic link between Pumping Station TSE2, located in Al Sailiya Street with the existing Transmission Mains in Al Rayyan Road and Al Furousiya Street. 2.3 General Scope of Works 2.3.1 Treated Sewerage Effluent System (TSE) The Contractor shall survey, procure, supply materials, construct, test, commission and hand over the following for TSE network but not be limited to: a. 125 mm - 355 mm (OD) HDPE pipe in trenches including all fittings and accessories. b. 150 mm - 1200 mm (ID) DI pipe in trenches including all fittings and accessories c. One Isolation and Three Isolation valves with chambers. d. Air valve chambers. e. Washout Valve chambers. 2.3.2 Other work components Other work components not limited to the following: a. Provision of all temporary works; b. Provision of all dewatering and ground water disposal if found necessary; c. Reinstatement of all surfaces disturbed or damaged as a result of all construction of the works d. Provision and maintenance of all temporary traffic controls; e. Maintenance of the Works for a period of 400 days; a. Liaise with other utility disciplines to ensure that the work is scheduled in such a way that underground conflicts/clashes are eliminated. 2.3.3 Maintenance of Traffic a. Where works impact the road, an outline Traffic Management Plan (TMP) has been developed to demonstrate the measures that could be implemented to minimise the impacts to traffic. Drawings for this are included within Section C - Tender drawings. These are subject to review by the Tenderer. b. The use of of alternative TMP may be permitted, provided that they can fully be shown to comply with the requirements of the Work Zone Traffic Management Guide latest issue. 2.3.4 Compliance For the completion of works permits and approvals are to be got and the Contractor is required to obtain a permit from the Ministry of Environment, as necessary, to ensure compliance with requirements. The Contractor shall make himself fully informed of the requirements of the Ministry of Environment and the requirements of all utility authorities. The Contractor is to comply with all permits and approval requirements needed to complete the construction works. The scope of work shall be read in conjunction with the supplementary project specification to QCS and with the latest edition of QCS 2014, relevant contract drawings, installation details, Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents, and design reports. The more stringent requirements shall apply. Project ID: IA 2017 C 024 I Schedule A: Part 1: Page 3 August 2017 DW083 - Muaither, Al Mearad and Rawdat Abal Heeran TSE Revision 0 STATE OF QATAR SCHEDULE A: PROJECT BRIEF ASHGHAL PART 1: SCOPE OF WORKS The engaged demolition Contractor shall comply with Qatar Construction Specification (QCS) 2014 with respect to asbestos surveying, storage, proper labelling of asbestos wastes, monitoring, managing and disposing. This includes competences required from workers/sub-contractors as per QCS 2014, control of work environment, and asbestos conforming PPE. Additional consultancy supervision outside the normal working hours and acceleration costs to meet the Project's Key Stages / Key Dates shall be borne by Contractor. The Contractor shall make himself fully informed and familiar with the surroundings by way of site visits, site inspections, collecting information or any other means deemed necessary and take into consideration the local situation with regard to availability of construction materials/suppliers, volatility and escalation of prices, difficulties associated with bringing and accommodating staff/labourers and obtaining lands for Site establishment. Due to the extent of new, diverted, replaced and protected underground services, the Contractor shall be required to carry out an adequate number of utility trial trenches / pits to identify the exact location and level of all existing underground services, ascertain in advance of construction, the route, level, appropriate execution sequence of all proposed underground networks along their entire lengths, resolving all clashes at site, taking the traffic diversions into consideration, prepare and submit detailed, well-coordinated shop drawings, combined and for each separate utility, for the approval of the Engineer and the relevant departments and authorities. Each existing utility shall remain fully operational until such time as the proposed replacement or diversion is in place, commissioned and ready for jointing at connection points, in coordination and in accordance with the requirements of the utility authority.
