ATR VERDICT: Although only four runners take their chance, this is a competitive handicap on paper. KING BOLETE was given an excellent ride from the front at Ascot last time by Andrea Atzeni and a 4lb rise could well underestimate the authority in which he won with. Perestroika reopposes from Ascot but the form of the Henry Candy stable still remains questionable as he hasn't had a winner since April, while Tawdeea shaped last time as though a step up in distance wouldn't go amiss. Novanica has proven disappointing of late and first time blinkers could well bring about improvement.

ATR VERDICT: LONGSIDE is the most solid option in here having returned in really good heart so far this season. A narrow defeat at Brighton was followed by another runner-up finish at Doncaster and he seems sure to put his head in front sooner rather than later. Galuppi shaped with a little bit more promise at Chelmsford last week so it is no surprise to see him turned out so quickly, while Moncarno gets the speculative nod to finish third.

Course winner Mercury is on a decent mark and cannot be discounted, while similar sentiments apply to So It's War and Talent Scout. JOYFUL STAR may have to come from off the pace from his draw in stall nine but did exactly that when getting off the mark at Ayr last month and another bold showing beckons with further improvement possible.

Plenary ran his best race last time when runner-up behind Shabeeb who won a conditions event on Saturday at Doncaster and he is likely to improve for the step up in distance, while newcomer Daily News is related to Group performer Danadana and represents a yard in excellent form.

ATR VERDICT: Malhama catches the eye going handicapping off a reasonable mark having placed at Haydock and Nottingham the last twice. However, she will need to settle better over this longer trip and might be worth opposing with PROSECUTE, who stayed on strongly when finishing second at Newmarket last month and this could prove the ideal distance for David Simcock's charge. Jive Time failed to fire at Bath but had looked promising previously and he isn't one to write off just yet.

ATR VERDICT: This looks a match on paper between Sehayli and LINCOLN ROCKS and slight preference is for the latter on the basis that she lines up in receipt of weight from the William Haggas- trained runner and will potentially get first run boasting a slightly better draw. Haggas' charge ran a blinder in defeat when last sighted at Chester and warrants the utmost respect as his sole representative on the card, but he's drawn widest of all in stall 11 and may have to overcome traffic problems to win. The selection isn't blessed with an outstanding draw herself, but she could turn into the straight ahead of Sehayli and appears to have improved from two to three years judged on her comeback run at Carlisle last month. The market should tell us more about Al Hawraa on debut.

ATR VERDICT: Next Life defied inexperience to win well on debut at Kempton last September and an opening mark of 84 seems more than fair for the daughter of Oasis Dream but the concern here on handicap debut is whether she will be street wise enough against horses with more experience than herself. Preference goes to another once-raced maiden winner in TARBOOSH who looks as though he can progress well above his mark of 79 and this half-brother of Carry On Deryck showed enough signs on debut that inexperience shouldn't be a concern. Lagenda heads the shortlist which also contains Fang, who has Ryan Moore and first time blinkers to assist, Il Piccolo Grande, who should benefit from the drop in distance, and George William, who was third in a decent handicap here last month.

ATR VERDICT: Falcon's Fire was only beaten half a lengths into third at Redcar eight days ago and with Keith Dalgleish's horses in good form, another big run from the three-year-old would come as no surprise. Indulgent is still a maiden after nine starts but produced a career-best effort when second at Ripon last time, so he joins Primobella and Rainbow Lad on the shortlist. A tentative vote is for HIGH ON LIGHT on her handicap debut, as the beautifully-bred daughter of Makfi is handed a significant step up in trip and could show any amount of improvement on a sounder surface.

Long Handicap: Jessie Allan 9 - 13 ATR VERDICT: GIANT SPARK won like a well-handicapped animal at Nottingham last week and the in-form Paul Midgley looks to have found his four-year-old an ideal opportunity to follow up that success. A 6lb rise looks reasonable given the visually impressive performance, and with top amateur Simon Walker booked once more, a fair effort is expected. Ancient Cross was a well-backed second at Catterick on Friday, and the veteran is clearly in decent heart bidding to end a long run without a win. Hab Reeh ended a 19-race winless run last time out at Ayr and must also have claims in such a modest renewal.
