Actor Spotlight Sincerely, Impact Broadway Actor Spotlight Actor Spotlight weiveR tnedutS Actor Spo tl,ignhot sug r eF ydnaR yB ATEB Student Review So last Tuesday, my school (BETA) went to go see 'Memphis', a show about the birth of Rock n Roll in the South as a white DJ plays urban music Summer AIMB and a causing a whole lot of controversies to happen. My taste on the show when it started, I kinda felt at home because I grew up listening to this type of music so I was moving my feet and I loved the music hands down. It was so groovy and snappy, the guitar picks and the bass lines Summer Employment Opportunities were tough, the horns were a nice touch and the drums and piano were like Bach of Rock n Roll, it was that good. (I gotta see 'Rock of Ages' if it Free Theatre Programs can challenge 'Memphis'.) After Act I, I was pretty satisfied with the play, the acting was good (I enjoyed Huey's character, he reminds so much of me) I was ready for what Act II is gonna bring me. t hg i l t opS d r awA ynoT Act II started and I was dumbfounded, the whole 20 minutes was spectacular and Big Daddy ripped the stage! Big Daddy was the Big James Brown, just moving his feet everywhere. The love scenes between Huey and Felicia were touching, it was 'Jungle Fever' back in the 50's and their love defined that it doesn't matter if your black or white, it's about the love you and her/him share and 'Memphis' really brought that out. The ending was incredible, almost all the energy that was saved in the play, let it all out in the final number and people were dancing on their seats, moving along to the music, it brought a smile to my face when I saw people, young and old dancing to this music telling me this music is never-ending, it's infinite.

I give the play 5 stars because, it touched home to me and I enjoyed every single minute of it. The music, spectacular, the acting, marvelous and funny and, the production was cutting edge. My favorite scene would have to be Big Daddy dancing on the stage for the first time, I was ready to get down on the stage and dance along with him, lol. What I learned from this play is that music brings people together, and when I saw people in the crowd, Black, White, Indian, PDFmyURL.com and dance along with him, lol. What I learned from this play is that music brings people together, and when I saw people in the crowd, Black, White, Indian, Latinos and Latinas, different types of race dancing and singing along with the play, I was moved. Music is the universal language we all can understand and the play brought people together to enjoy the music and I learned a lot from that. The play was really wonderful and thank you Impact Broadway for allowing BETA to go see this play, we had a good time and can't wait for more upcoming plays you have for us to see and enjoy.
