MINNESOTA WILD FORWARD ERIC STAAL NAMED TO 2020 NHL ALL-STAR GAME

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The (NHL) today announced forward Eric Staal will represent the club at the 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend, Jan. 24-25 in St. Louis. It marks the sixth All-Star Game of Staal’s NHL career and second with the Wild (2018). He played in four All-Star Games as a member of the (2007-09, 2011) and was named MVP of the 2008 NHL All-Star Game and served as of Team Staal at the 2011 NHL All-Star Game in Raleigh, N.C.

Staal, 35 (10/29/84), has tallied 32 points (15-17=32) in 40 games this season. He leads the team in scoring, goals, game-winning goals (4) and multi- games (7), ranks second in assists and T-4th in shots on (71). The 6-foot-4, 206-pound native of , Ont., recorded a goal for his 1,000th NHL point at Chicago (12/15) to become the 89th player in NHL history (sixth active) to reach the milestone. He notched two points (1- 1=2) in his 1,200th career NHL game vs. Ottawa (11/29) to become the 113th player to reach the milestone.

Staal owns 1,006 points (432-574=1,006), 131 power-play goals, 69 game-winning goals, 3,811 shots and 814 minutes in 1,214 career NHL games during 16 seasons with Carolina, the and the Wild. He ranks third amongst active players in shots, fifth in goals and games played, sixth in scoring and game-winning goals, eighth in power-play goals and 10th in assists.

The St. Louis Blues and the city of St. Louis will host the 2020 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend, from Jan. 24‑25, including the 2020 NHL All-Star Skills™ on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. CT on NBCSN and the 2020 Honda NHL® All-Star Game on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. CT on NBC (KARE 11). The 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend will once again consist of a three-game tournament, played in a 3-on-3 format, featuring four teams – one for each NHL division. Each team will be made up of 11 players from the respective division: six forwards, three defensemen and two .
