Auch die Ungarin Katinka Hosszu kann ihre Leistung der Vorläufe verbessern und wird mit dem neuen EM-Rekord in 04:31,01 Minuten Europameisterin über 400 Meter Lagen. Silber holt die Spanierin Mireia Belmonte Garcia mit einer Zeit von 04:33,13 Minuten vor der BritinAimee Wilmott in 04:34,69 Minuten.
