How do you balance swimming, school, friends, and other activities?

Anna: I just try to keep a positive attitude and keep going no matter how hard it gets. My parents and friends outside swim are all really supportive of what I am doing too so they understand when I don’t have as much time to hang out with them. Get another from home but I make sure I can include them cut and do well at Trials… as much as possible. How has your swimming changed over the last year?

Tanya: Well this past summer moved in with the Schmitt family and I am now able to be more committed by doing double practices and focusing more on swim instead of driving for 1 hour and a half. I am truly grateful that the Schmitt family is allowing me to follow my dreams.

Kendyl: I moved into Jeff’s group and have been training a lot more.

Jessie: I have changed all my strokes and put myself in a very good position leading up to Olympic Trials.

training, just have FUN.

Anna: Ha ha, listen to your coaches! They know what they’re talking about! Don’t be afraid to dream big…you never know what you’re capable of unless you just go for it.

Kendyl: Don’t take it too seriously and make sure to have fun.

Tanya: To have fun! When I was younger I was never a swimming “superstar” but I loved swimming and kept with it. You are the only one who can make your dreams come true!

If you have ideas about your college major yet or career goals, what are they?

Anna: I’m thinking about majoring in Psy- chology or Pre-Law. I haven’t completely decided yet. I’m going to get my general courses out of the way and then get settled on a career path probably in my sophomore year out at Florida.

Tanya: I want to be a Sports Medicine doc- tor or Physical Therapist and hopefully work with USA swimming.

Jessie: Business

Kendyl: High school is on my mind right now.
