El pasado viernes, 24 de agosto de 2018, el combinado nacional conquisto de forma invicta la medalla de oro en el Torneo Centrobasket Femenino, al derrotar al equipo cubano con marcador de 83-54, consiguiendo el boleto clasificatorio al torneo AnieriCztp 2019. Es el segundo oro para Puerto Rico en este torneo centroamericano y el primero desde el 2010. Ademas, de la primera clasificacion en una Copa Mundial en la historia.
