Maks and Peta Went Undercover at Steps on Broadway Maks and Peta Went Undercover at Steps on Broadway Posted on November 11, 2015 by Margaret Fuhrer Oh, dance #pranks! Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, as if it needs to be said, are incredible ballroom dancers with multiple “Dancing with the Stars” championships to their names. (They’re also a smokin’- hot offstage couple.) But what if Maks and Peta were just two not- so-talented olds trying to shuffle their way through an open dance class? That’s the question “Good Morning America” posed this week. For a special “GMA Undercover” segment, the show put Maks and Peta in some pretty effective disguises—fake bellies and aggressive wigs were involved—and dropped them into a musical theater class at NYC’s Steps on Broadway, where the duo did their best bad dancing. Basically, they tried to look like Aunt Linda and Uncle Jerry* on the dance floor at cousin Ashley’s wedding—and because they’re overachievers in everything they do, they were darn convincing. Not that it was easy for them to go against all their better dance instincts. “I was trying not to laugh at the people who were laughing at me,” Murgatroyd said. “It was kind of hard to be off beat, actually.” Maks and Peta’s alter egos (via @petamurgatroyd) Eventually Maks and Peta couldn’t help but bust out a fabulous little salsa number, cluing in their legitimately clueless classmates. You just can’t keep world-class dancers down. Enjoy all the delightful awkwardness: *For the record, their official code names were Bob and Ronda. Which is amazing. .

Senior women are incapable of reproduction, mastering their bodies, or arousing sexual desire in themselves or others. The senior actresses’ I explore in the case studies below insert their performances of self and their everyday lives into the large and complicated discourse of sex, producing a counter-narrative to sexually inactive senior women. Their performances actively embody their sexuality outside the frame of a character. This thesis examines how senior actresses’ performances of sexuality extend a discourse of sexuality imposed on older woman by mass media. These women are the public face of senior women’s sexual agency.

By using Stuart Hall‟s theory of audience reception (Hall, 1980) the researcher looks into dance and gender in the media to indicate whether or not LDS participants believe stereotypical gender roles are portrayed on “Dancing with the Stars.” Through four focus groups containing a total of 30 participants, the researcher analyzed costuming, choreography, and judges‟ comments through the viewer‟s eyes.

ROBERT HERJAVEC 2015 Fall Press Report OUTLET: THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER ISSUE: DECEMBER 4, 2015 CIRCULATION: 73,875 IMPRESSIONS: 221,625 OUTLET: RUNNERS WORLD ISSUE: NOVEMBER 6, 2015 IMPRESSIONS: 2,625,589 I got fired when I was younger, started an internet security business, and that was that. Some people have a vision to start a business. Others adapt because they’re forced to. I was the latter. I was a casual runner my whole life, but I got serious eight years ago when my mom became ill with cancer. My company was growing, my kids were littler, the days felt overwhelming. The only thing that made me forget about everything was running, so I started doing it every day. Most people think business is the fun, sexy stuff we see on TV, but success comes from the 22 things you have to do every day that nobody notices. That’s just like running. There are a lot of fans at the finish line of a marathon, but not as many between miles three and 26. My proudest running moment was my first marathon in Miami in 2009. I trained only for a few months, but I was really proud that I even finished (in 4:40). I run five miles daily, plus a long run of eight to 10 miles on Sunday. It’s hard to find the time but if I don’t, I’m more tired, I need to eat more – it affects me physically and mentally. I appeared on Dancing With the Stars this year and made it to week eight of 10 with no dance experience.
