Representative SB 1510/HB 1211 Land Acquisition Trust Fund

• Bills would require at least $100 million a year from the Land Acquisition Trust Fund to be spent on Florida Forever

• Both extend bonding authority Senator • Senate bill bars use of the funds for agency administrative expenses • 1000 Friends advocates this bipartisan approach to set a floor for Florida Forever, but prefers return to historic funding level of at least $300 million • Bills currently stalled in both chambers

Representative SB 1482/HB 1177 Biscayne Bay

• Establishes Biscayne Bay Commission as coordinating clearinghouse for public policy related to Bay, surrounding areas

• Composed of representatives of state, regional, local Senator agencies, business and civic groups • Adds Biscayne Bay to impaired Florida waterways where sewage disposal without advanced wastewater treatment would be prohibited • Approved by 1 of 3 Senate committees, 2 of 3 House committees

Representative SB 94 Water Storage North of Lake Okeechobee • Requires South Florida Water Management District, partnering with Army Corps of Engineers, to expedite plan for water storage north of Lake Okeechobee, part of Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) • Establishes timetable for aquifer storage and recovery wells to be operating by 2027 • Approved by 1 of 2 Senate committees • No House equivalent Sen. Suncoast Parkway Ridge Road interchange SB 100 Highway Projects • Repeals 2019 M-CORES authorization for up to 330 miles of toll roads through western rural Florida • Redirects funding to upgrading U.S. 19 from Suncoast Parkway extension to I-10 in Madison County and widening other “arterial highways” • New toll segments remain possible • Declares extending Florida’s Turnpike to be in state’s “strategic interest” without specifying new terminus

• Commits FDOT to PDE process, report by end of 2022 Sen. This bill seeks to dismantle all 10 of Florida’s Regional Planning Councils. No House Companion.
