What is Zion’s Camp ?

As its name sake suggests, Zion’s Camp’s mission is to profoundly impact the future leadership of the Church and Scouting. The Zion’s Camp experience will instill all participants with inspiring and life changing LDS/BSA ‐ Priesthood/Scouting training of the highest caliber.

Zion’s Camp brings Philmont level training to the Eastern ward and stake young men leaders, scout leaders, bishoprics, stake presidencies and high councilors. Over the past two years, adult leader and Boy Training provided during the entire week has been led by a team that included members of the Young Men’s General Presidency of the Church, members of the BSA National Executive Board, invited General Authorities of the Church, and Members of the National LDS/BSA relations staff. We anticipate having a similar high‐caliber training team in 2018.

While the scout camp is operating and the boys are in program areas and participating in scouting activities, the adult leadership will be receiving profound and inspiring leadership BSA/Priesthood training. Scouts will also be able to participate in intimate sunrise devotionals, firesides, and teaching opportunities with general authorities and visiting church and scouting dignitaries. All Scouts and Leaders will have the opportunity to attend as a unit the Hill Cumorah Pageant as well as experience some of the other sacred sites of the Church.

Why Zion’s Camp?

1. LDS units universally struggle in training leaders and helping leaders see the vision of the LDS/BSA priesthood and scouting relationship, and in implementing and operating an inspired scouting/priesthood young men’s program.

2. BSA summer camps in the North East Region generally operate their weekly programs from Sunday at noon to Friday night, forcing LDS and other religious units to camp and travel on Sunday or come to camp on Monday and miss the initial sections of the camp program.

COME TO ZION’S CAMP

Zion’s Camp will dramatically improve all LDS Young Men’s organizations that participate.
