This user guide will detail how to: • Navigate the payUSAtax website • Pay your personal or business Federal taxes • Schedule future payments and email reminders

Benefits of paying your taxes withpayUSAtax include: • Low Cost - Low standard and convenience fees • Convenience - e-file or paper-file early and make a payment by card later to delay out-of-pocket ex- penses • Rewards - Receive points or benefits in reward programs connected with your credit or debit card (check with your financial institution for specific terms and agreements) • Peace of mind - A confirmation number and digital time stamp are provided on your receipt page

Skip directly to making your personal or business Federal tax payment by selecting the buttons on the landing page.

Click the payUSAtax logo or “Home” link at any time to go to the landing page.

Click the “Tax Types Accepted” link to view the Federal tax types accepted for personal and business income taxes. Toggle the menus for Personal Income Taxes and Business Income Taxes.

Payment Verification allows you to verify payments processed throughpayUSAtax or 844-PAY-TAX-8 in the prior 12 months. You do not have to be a registered user. Once you verify your prior payments, you will have the option to make additional payments through an expedited process.

The website and live customer support are available in both English and Spanish.

Login to manage your account profile, view payment history, make expedited payments, enroll in the fu- ture payment program, or sign up for email reminders. Per IRS requirements, you must register annually.

6 Making a payment - Select Service

On the homepage, select either the “Make A Personal Payment” or “Make A Business Payment” button. On the next screen, there is a link to switch payment types if needed.

Select a payment category and click “Continue,” or return to the homepage by clicking the “Back” button.

Depending on the payment type selected, there may be additional options to select in order to proceed. For example, when Form 1040 Current Tax Return 2017 is selected, you may check the box if you received a balance due notice from the IRS. Certain options may request that you select a tax year or additional information, such as a tax type.

On the Payment Details screen, enter the taxpayer information. You can change the Federal Payment Type by clicking “Edit,” which returns to the previous screen.

Business payment details

In the Payment Information section, enter the payment amount. Select your payment method: credit card, debit card, or a . Upon selection of a credit or debit card, additional fields will display. More details on paying with digital wallets can be found at the end of this guide.

9 Making a payment - Review Information

Items to review include: • Taxpayer information • Payment information, including type, fee, and total amount • Option to receive promo- tional emails and updates • Terms and Conditions (with print option) • Option to schedule future payments and/or email reminders

When done reviewing, select the “Accept Terms and Process Your Federal Tax Payment” but- ton, or the “Back” button to re- turn to the previous screen.

Making a payment - Payment Receipt

After a transaction is processed, you will receive a confirmation number. A confirmation email will be sent to the email ad- dress provided. You have the option to print this page for your records.

This screen also presents the option to create an account to schedule future payments and/or email reminders by clicking on the icons at the bottom of the screen.

10 Scheduling future payments

On both the Review Information and Payment Receipt screens, there is an option to set up an account to schedule a future payment. When you select this option, the ac- count setup fields will appear.

After you accept the terms and process your payment, an icon to schedule future payments will appear at the bottom of the Pay- ment Receipt screen. Click to be directed to your account.

Login to your account using the email ad- dress and password set up on the Review Information or Payment Receipt screen.

Upon login, the screen will show Payment History. Click on the “Profile” link for your account settings.

Under My Account settings, there is a section for Scheduled Payments. Click the “HERE” link to schedule a new future pay- ment. If you already have a payment setup, the screen will show details about that payment.

Depending on the payment type selected, there may be additional options to select in order to proceed, such as tax year or other infor- mation.

Complete the payer information on the next screen and set up future payments in the last section. There are three payment options for recurring payments: credit card, debit card, and Check out with Paypal.

Set up future payments in the last section. The date selected (ex. the 15th of the month) will apply to every month until the payments are scheduled to stop.

When the future payments are successfully scheduled, you will see a confirmation message and a table displaying the details of the scheduled payments.

Scheduling email reminders

Follow the same steps listed in the previous section to access your account and profile settings. Under My Ac- count settings, there is a section for Email Reminders. Click the “HERE” link to schedule an email reminder. If you already have a reminder setup, the screen will show details about that reminder.

Select the tax type for the desired email reminder, select the day of the month to receive the reminder, and click “Continue.”

When the email reminder is successfully saved, you will see a confirmation message and details of the scheduled email reminder.

14 Checkout with PayPal

PayPal is one of the digital wallet payment options offered on the payUSAtax web- site. To pay with your PayPal account, follow the below steps.

On the Payment Details screen, complete the requested information and click the “Check out with PayPal” button.

Login to your PayPal account. Select your desired payment method and click “Continue.”

The Review Information screen will appear with the PayPal logo as the card type.

15 Amex Express Checkout

Amex Express Checkout is one of the digital wallet payment options offered on the payUSAtax website. To pay with this option, follow the below steps.

On the Payment Details screen, complete the requested information and click the “Amex Express Checkout” button.

Login to your Amex Express Confirm your card and click “Next.” You may Checkout account. first have to verify your login.

The Review Information screen will appear with the Amex Express Checkout logo as the card type.

16 VISA Checkout

VISA Checkout is one of the digital wallet payment options offered on the payUSAtax website. To pay with this option, follow the below steps.

On the Payment Details screen, complete the requested information and click the “VISA Checkout” button.

Login to your VISA Checkout Confirm your card and click account. “Continue.”

The Review Information screen will show the VISA Checkout logo as the card type.

Google Pay and Samsung Pay

When using VISA Checkout, you can pay via Samsung Pay or Google Pay (formerly Android Pay) if you have those digital wallets linked to your VISA Checkout account and are paying on your mobile device. After entering your payment details, scroll to the payment methods section of the screen. Depending on which payment app you have linked as the default to VISA Checkout, you will see the correspond- ing Google Pay or Samsung Pay icon alongside a picture of your VISA credit or debit card and the VISA Checkout button. Follow the instructions within the mobile app to complete your payment.

18 Masterpass

Masterpass is one of the digital wallet payment options offered on the payUSAtax website. To pay with this option, follow the below steps.

On the Payment Details screen, complete the requested information and select the “masterpass” button.

Login to your Masterpass account. Confirm your card and click “Continue.”
